Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
So, I’m checking in to see if anyone here has dealt with something similar? How did you handle it... or what worked for you... and just general advice on all this.

Let me give you the full rundown of what’s going on...
Basically, I’m 15 and a half. My period started when I was 13 and everything was perfectly fine—regular, predictable, the whole deal... 🙄 But then, toward the end of my first semester of high school (around the middle of November), I went through this incredibly stressful stretch because of exams. I literally wasn't sleeping at all, just constant pressure and anxiety... I even went for a checkup and told my doctor that my period was already a month late. I explained that it was probably just stress and things would settle down, but they didn't. I didn't get it again until January, and when I finally did, it was barely anything for three or four days, and then it happened twice more but it was super short—like two days, and by the third day, there was almost nothing left. Then, from March to June, I missed them entirely. And now? For about two weeks, I haven't had a period, just this weird spotting that's barely even blood... Meanwhile, with all these irregularities, my skin has gotten so bad I can hardly look in the mirror. 😲 At first, I thought maybe it was just the foundation and concealer I felt forced to wear because I couldn't face myself without it, but now that it's the holidays, I'm not wearing any makeup and I'm not under any stress, yet the situation hasn't improved. It's not quite as bad as before, but I still can't deal with the fact that I went from having clear skin to this absolute disaster. 😱
Of course, I told my mom everything, but she just brushes it off like it's totally normal and says it'll balance itself out once my hormones settle. Honestly? I’m looking at her response with a healthy dose of skepticism... ugh, I am just so over this. 🙂

So, I wanted to ask if anyone else here has dealt with something similar? How did you handle it... or whatever else is relevant to this kind of thing?

Let me give you all a bit of background on what’s going on...
Basically, I'm 15 and a half. I started my period when I was 13, and up until recently, everything was perfectly fine—regular, you know? 🙄 But then, towards the end of the first semester of high school (around the middle of November), I went through this incredibly stressful stretch because of exams. I literally didn't sleep for nights on end, just constant pressure after pressure... I even went in for a checkup, and my period was already a month late. I told my doctor, explaining that it was probably just stress causing things to get out of whack, but it didn't stop there. It didn't come back until January, and when it finally did, it was barely anything for three or four days. Then I had two more cycles, but they were extremely short—just two days, and by the third day, there was almost nothing left. After that, I hit another stretch from March to June where I didn't get it at all. And now? For about two weeks, I haven't had a real period, just some weird discharge with very little blood. To make matters worse, while all these delays were happening, my skin flared up so badly I can't even look in the mirror. 😲 At first, I assumed it was just the foundation and concealer I was forced to wear because I couldn't stand how I looked, but now that it's the holidays, I'm not wearing any makeup and I'm not under exam stress, yet the situation hasn't improved much. It’s not quite as bad as before, but I still can't deal with the fact that I went from having clear skin to this absolute mess. 😱
Of course, I told my mom everything, but she just acts like it's totally normal and that things will eventually level out once my hormones settle down. Honestly, I'm looking at her advice with a healthy dose of skepticism... ugh, I am just completely overwhelmed right now.🙂
