I am honestly not certain if a hematoma is strictly limited to pregnancy scenarios. During my own ultrasound, my doctor pointed out a small "dark spot" within my uterus; she couldn't quite determine if it was a developing embryo or something else entirely, which is why she sent me for a blood test. My HCG levels confirmed I was pregnant, though the numbers were so low that nothing was visible on the ultrasound yet... So, in my experience, it seems quite possible regardless of whether a pregnancy is present or not.😉

It is possible that a small uterine hematoma may have ruptured—but please, try not to worry, as it doesn't necessarily indicate anything serious.
