Period talk: Questions and advice

I’m posting this here hoping for some reassurance—or maybe just to find someone who’s dealt with something similar. For seven years, my cycle has been pretty predictable—well, mostly within normal limits—and the flow was never particularly heavy. But things have taken a weird turn. My second-to-last period dragged on way longer than usual (we're talking a few drops a day for three straight weeks), and then this most recent one showed up just five days after the last one ended. To make matters worse, the bleeding is incredibly heavy—nothing like what I’m used to—and the cramps are honestly unbearable. I’m starting to panic a little because I’m traveling out of town for the next few weeks, and my gynecologist is back home. It’s all feeling pretty uncharacteristic and unsettling. 🙂
