Female Directors

I’m a big fan of Sofia stuff... like The Virgin Suicides and Lost in Translation... they just have this sort of feminine, touching vibe to them... which is why I thought Kathryn Bigelow's In the Cut might work for me... but honestly... I didn't get it at all... I just have some issues with her work... The Piano was okay, I guess... Mira Nair too, and definitely Antonia Bird (didn't even realize a woman directed The Silence of the Lambs + L. C-ripleys)
... As for Nora Ephron, I liked Bewitched and Mixed Nuts, but You've Got Mail? Not for me...
and...... I have to mention... oh boy... 😳 😳 🙄 ...Nancy Meyers, because she writes such funny stuff... if you could just fix the scripts and the directing a bit... hmm... though her movies are so typically American, and I'm not really into that (plus The Holiday sucks)
I feel kind of embarrassed that I haven't seen anything by Vera Cruz or those other directors who do short films
