Rhinoplasty recovery: What to expect? in Health ·
Look, you really shouldn't let the fear of the surgery get to you. It’s just that whole healing process can be a little awkward and uncomfortable. At least, that's what my doctor told me. As for the anesthesia, I wouldn't touch general anesthesia ever again if I could help it—I'd stick strictly to local. I tried going under once and it was absolutely miserable; I was stuck vomiting for three days straight.

wearyhawk122 didn't actually say that—she just misquoted him. Honestly, I don't think getting a nose job is some massive, life-altering ordeal, but I am dying for some solid surgeon recommendations! I saw Dr. Glušac over in San Francisco once, but I have zero clue if his work is actually any good. My surgery is going to be mostly cosmetic, though I definitely need to fix my deviated septum too. So, if anyone knows anything about Dr. Glušac, please let me know!😕

You don't really see the full results until a few months later, and you might even feel some tenderness at the tip of your nose for up to a year. It’s a complex procedure, but honestly, an incredible option for anyone struggling with both breathing issues and their nose shape.

Listen, whatever you decide to do, please sleep propped up—either semi-sitting or fully upright! Whatever you do, do NOT lie flat. If you do, all that bruising is going to migrate straight to your forehead, and you'll end up looking like a very agitated Klingonac. Also, just a heads-up: having those nasal packs removed on day seven is pretty uncomfortable. Trust me.

On the seventh day, Dr. Glušac removes them. Usually, you deal with the packing removal after a week and then the bandages come off after five days. He also suggests getting some ocean air and maybe a dip in the sea to help clear up the bruising. But obviously, absolutely no tanning! He’s seriously mastered this specific rhinoplasty method that avoids those massive, long-lasting bruises. Has anyone else here actually gone to him?

Me too! I’m dying to know. I actually went to see Dr. Glušac down in San Francisco once, and he seemed really solid. Has anyone here actually had him do a rhinoplasty? I’ve got a deviated septum, and honestly, my nose is just a total disaster visually.
