I feel like I’ve read this before, but it doesn't really tell me when you can actually detect an infection preventatively. Like, how do you treat it before it hits the bloodstream and starts forming cysts? And can you even get rid of the tapeworm once it's inside a person? This just talks about treating the secondary symptoms, not the actual thing itself.
I'm also wondering if someone could catch it if they washed their hands after playing around with stuff—I think I read somewhere that high temperatures are the only way to kill it because the eggs are pretty stubborn against disinfectants... maybe.
