I can’t seem to track down that document again...
But honestly, there isn't a single shred of concrete advice on how to actually resolve this—every single resource I stumble upon just tells me to "seek professional assistance." As if that helps—who exactly am I supposed to be calling for this?!

Maybe I should look into speed reading classes... has anyone here actually tried that?
I’m not sure I buy this... I have one of those speed reading books by Tony Buzan—you know the type—and he claims this kind of thing can be fixed through rapid reading exercises. He talks about people who were stuck at maybe 100 words per minute and managed to jump all the way up to 700 after taking a course.

But honestly? Now that I'm in college... keeping up with the coursework has become an uphill battle. There's just too much material to digest, and since my reading speed is lagging behind, it's getting harder to stay afloat.

I actually stumbled upon this bit of info online 🙂

==> SYMPTOMS OF ADULT DYSLEXIA

General symptoms:
- A disconnect between overall intelligence and actual language skills;
- Inconsistent performance—those "good" days versus the "bad" ones;
Confusion, along with struggles managing a daily schedule or even free time;
- A weaker short-term working memory;
- Issues with spatial and temporal orientation (left vs. right, east vs. west, etc.);
- Difficulty with sequencing—alphabetical order, months of the year, tables, instruction lists, birthdays, and so on;
- Problems with time perception—that feeling of "losing" track of time;
- Trouble recognizing rhymes;
- Difficulty grasping verbal humor;
- Struggles during conversation—needing extra time to process information or find the right words;
- Difficulties coordinating space, time, and events;
- An inaccurate (usually negative) self-image—thinking "I'm just lazy" or "I'm not attentive enough." (According to Davis, Brown, 2001)

Ever since I can remember... I’ve found myself wondering if this speed reading course actually delivers any real results—I mean, can it truly sharpen one's cognitive processing? And more importantly, does anyone else know of other legitimate methods out there?

I’m actually curious about this too...
