Adult dyslexia: Anyone else dealing with this?
in Health ·
Does anyone know where an adult can actually go to get tested for dyslexia in Washington, D.C.?
I was over in Savannah recently, and honestly, they were so unhelpful. They basically told me I could sign up for some kind of screening, but then made it sound like a total nightmare of endless appointments. Plus, they had the nerve to act all weirded out, asking why someone in their 20s would even bother getting tested if they’ve "managed just fine" until now. They even suggested therapy wouldn't make sense anyway. Like, excuse me?
Now I'm just sitting here wondering how an adult is supposed to get a straight answer on whether they actually have dyslexia or not. I'm not looking for treatment or some big plan to "fix" myself—I just want a professional to confirm what's going on.
If anyone has any leads or knows how this works, please help a girl out. Thanks.
