Dealing with Osteomyelitis
in Health ·
Let me introduce myself first 😁
I'm Paul, 18 years old, coming from somewhere out west... doesn't really matter though xD 🙂
Since we're talking about osteomyelitis, I figured I'd share my own situation. Got diagnosed 15 days ago and already had surgery... basically, I had a nasty femur fracture with an intramedullary nail, and when they went to pull the rod out, an infection set in. Now the bone won't heal properly in one spot; I've got this "tunnel" forming😲 It's fecalis bacteria from the GI tract, and the goal is to wipe it out within six months. If not, I'm looking at amputation of that section or waiting for new bone to form... You guys didn't mention that osteomyelitis can be either dangerous or manageable depending on what kind of bacteria is causing the mess 😠 If the bacteria is relatively harmless, you'll clear it fast, but if not, treatment can drag on for up to three years... Good luck to everyone dealing with this, including myself. Hope for a quick recovery. Cheers 🙂🙂🙂🙂😉
