In my case, they initially put me down for an MRI, but then they told me today that they've switched things up on me..
As for that fiberglass cast idea, I suppose I'm actually pretty into it 🙂
Does anyone know if supplemental insurance covers any of that? I'm wondering if I might be able to avoid paying out of pocket for it..
And since I’m getting it anyway, I guess I should ask—can I pick out a specific color? :P

They sent me for a CT scan instead of an MRI, which I guess just means they're trying to save a few bucks at the clinic xD
The doctor on duty seems pretty chill about it, saying everything should be fine. He mentioned I'll need a follow-up in a few days and then they'll probably put me in a cast, which I'll likely be stuck wearing for a month or two, I suppose.

Following the doctor's intervention, I'm heading in for an MRI... that should hopefully give them a clearer picture of what's actually going on. He mentioned that it’s going to take quite a while for that tiny bone to fully heal. Also, if this second part has shifted, considering it's already been a week since the fracture and the supposed displacement, wouldn't they have to reset it themselves? Since a week has already passed... this is my first time dealing with a break, so I'm really not an expert in any of this 🙂
And if it turns out I do need surgery, will I have to deal with carrying around screws, plates, or anything like that?

I noticed there’s already a similar thread floating around, though it’s been quite a while since it was posted.
Exactly a week ago, I ended up breaking my navicular bone in my wrist.
I made sure to get everything documented, they put me in a splint, and told me to come back for a follow-up in a week. I went in for that checkup today and had more imaging done. While the fracture is clearly visible on the scans, my doctor seems to suspect that maybe another small bone might have shifted out of place as well. If I can actually manage to get an appointment, I should be heading in for an MRI in a few days just to get a definitive look at what we're dealing with.
I was wondering, if it turns out to be just the navicular fracture, would they just go with a cast?
And if that other little bone has moved too, would that mean surgery is on the table?
-I'm also curious about how safe those procedures are and what the potential long-term effects might be...
