16 - 11 for New York City at the half.

Washington, D.C. looked decent enough until Lino handed the keys over to the "son-in-law," who responded by thanking him with mistake after mistake.
The officiating was a disaster.

Until yesterday, I wouldn't have said it. Honestly, I used to think most BBB fans were just idiots looking for trouble, and that the police and SWAT teams were the ones least to blame for any incidents.

But when you experience people shouting stuff like "Step back if you don't want us to use force!"—followed by replies of "Sir, please don't use force!"—and then threats directed at women and girls... believe me, it looked like they were practically begging for a fight. I'm not interested in fighting; if I wanted to scrap, I'd head to an MMA gym, not a handball game.

I know they aren't responsible for the security failure itself, but that kind of arrogant, cocky behavior is unacceptable. It's as if they were defending the arena from hardened criminals instead of women and children who just wanted to watch the match.

Hopefully, it's a bit clearer now why I'm using certain adjectives.

What else were you thinking? The police had clear orders—clear out the crowd and deal with anyone resisting.
Next time, go ahead and attend the game, just live with the hope that some member of the elite won't decide to watch the match and eat up a thousand of your seats.

I feel for the poor souls who have to face us in the Olympic qualifiers. It’s going to be an absolute slaughter of innocent bystanders.
The US coach is definitely going to field a completely different squad against us. 100%.

Unlike Balićev, who acted like a coward saying, "...while those two weren't interfering..."🤣

Maybe next time the referee should take a moment to think twice before making a call they aren't even sure about.

The club hit Miličić where it hurts—his wallet. That fine was bigger than Balić’s entire annual salary. Since he apologized later, FIBA put him on probation. One more insult caught on camera and he's done with FIBA for good.

If Miličić were coaching our side today, the game would still be going. We'd still be waiting for that Mexican duo to swap out these two exhausted players.

They were practically dead on their feet and still managed to give those fast Danes a run for their money.
I called it—I knew exactly what would trip us up, and that’s precisely why we lost. Giving up goals on fast breaks because our defense wasn't set? In modern basketball, you just can't afford to let that happen. But look, when you miss that many open layups (not that they missed *that* much, considering how phenomenal Hvidt was in the hoop), you aren't going to beat a mediocre team, let alone a squad like Denmark.☕
The guards were pretty weak out there, though to be fair, they spent most of the game on the bench, so maybe they could have grabbed one or two more rebounds.
Our wings failed to capitalize again, and you could blame Ballinger for that. I say "blame" with air quotes, though, since the poor guy could barely walk properly, let alone find the burst of speed needed to create an advantage.
Lackovic was underwhelming, and Valcic only seemed to find his rhythm right at the end of the game.
Metlific was incredibly solid, both on offense and defense. Dominic lost his cool way too fast; we actually had a chance to catch up when we were down by three, but he reacted too impulsively to that Danish breakaway, slipped, left a massive hole in the defense, and that was the nail in the coffin.
The officiating was easily some of the worst I've seen in any game lately (maybe aside from that Poland-Norway matchup). But honestly, shouldn't you just adapt to the officials' style? Instead, no. Linus goes and gets the whole team worked up, and in the most critical moments, he hands them four minutes of penalties!!!😠
If I could go back in time, I’d hunt down my own post from before the EP started, where I asked why, as a global powerhouse, we haven't had a single American referee pair at a major tournament in fifteen years? How is that even possible? I guarantee we wouldn't be getting called this way if they knew they might face the same treatment next time.

Yeah, unfortunately... though you have to give credit to Valčić for today. He had a ton of steals and interceptions, and showed some serious grit toward the end. It's just a shame the refs cut him short by missing that clear penalty when Hvidt stripped the ball during his shot.
Hopefully, he’ll find that offensive rhythm he had five or six years ago again.

It’s crazy—every single player stood in front of the cameras and admitted Denmark deserved the win and was the better team.

But if I say it before they do, I'm the one who gets banned! 😁🙏

What exactly is the goal here? You want players to trash talk the officials and UEFA on live TV just so they can get suspended and lose their contracts?
The look on his face said everything.
That isn't the sound of someone who lost a fair fight; it’s the reaction of a man who’s been robbed and humiliated.

Two goals overturned in a row because of fouls. What a complete joke.
Just get off the field.

lol..they called a foul

Good grief. The Danes are just playing dirty—hands, feet, choking, using levers. And the refs? They aren't calling even 5% of it.

If there were no refs on the field right now, we’d be up by at least three. Minimum.

Just one question.

What would Onesta do to the refs after that phantom foul on Vukic?
Handball Euro Finals: America vs. Denmark 20:24 in Other Sports ·
Jonathan Reed4 said:1. Exactly.
2. Right on.
3. True, but in this instance, the opponent (Vukic) definitely reached the ball.

The opponent was a Danish winger who never stood a chance at getting to the ball, since his teammate fed it right to Vukic's wing.

Charles Fox10 said:In the NBA, intent is what triggers a two-minute penalty.
In the NBA, an accidental kick is called a nine-foot violation.
In the NBA, you can't really call it clumsiness or just bad luck—especially when the opponent wasn't even close to contesting the play.
They were quick to judge Vukic, yet they were the last ones who should have been passing judgment.

The ball hit Vukic in the groin, then his hand, then his thigh as he fell. There was zero chance of a nine-meter call. Vukic was standing still while the Dane aimed right at his junk instead of passing to his winger.

Like I said before, if Onesta were on the floor, there would have been a complete riot. Someone wouldn't have walked away on their own two feet.

The NBA is easily the most incompetent sports organization out there. Honestly, even the FIBA is better than them.

A seven-meter penalty and a two-minute suspension. Is this really how it ends?
