crimsonhound28 said:Hey, Andrew Robinson64, could you give us more info on this? What are the treatments actually like? How long does everything take, and is there any pain involved? What kind of laser do they use, how long is the recovery period, and what does your skin look like afterward?
Since you’re giving it such a good review, could you share some details? Just anything you can remember. 😘

I have a consultation coming up soon with my dermatologist, so I'll see what they recommend for me.

Basically, you just call them up, schedule an appointment for two or three days out, and then show up. They enter your basic info into the computer, ask why you're visiting, and then suggest either a specific laser or whatever else is needed to fix the issue. In my case, I did the first treatment right after the consultation. You lie down on the table, they wipe off any makeup you might be wearing, check your skin, clear out any impurities, and then perform dermabrasion—it's this little device that moves across the skin; it feels a bit scratchy, but nothing intense. After that comes the laser. They apply a gel, have you put on protective goggles, and then move the laser over the skin. There’s a flash, a slight stinging sensation, and they repeat the process across the areas where you have acne. Once finished, they wipe off the gel, apply a soothing cream, and that’s it. Then you head over to the nurse or the receptionist to PAY😢 and set up your next appointment based on your schedule.
And you just repeat that process a few times. The sessions are spaced about a week apart. You can go back to wearing makeup normally right away, and there aren't any lasting side effects like scarring or anything—just some redness that lasts maybe thirty minutes, which is totally normal.
She explains everything thoroughly; you can honestly ask her anything at all.

There's ECHO. I think they're pretty solid, and then there's Fenix too. As for Dr. Sanja Greguric Matesu, people say she's fantastic, though you might have to wait a while since her schedule is always packed.

That's just cheap 👎

If I were actually here just to promote my own medical practice, why would I be asking for advice on a different one—maybe a cheaper option? I’ve visited this doctor a few times, and honestly, she’s perfectly fine. I wouldn't go so far as to say she’s terrible when she isn't. I don't really understand why I'm being attacked like this. Should we just attack everyone who happens to mention they have a doctor they like?

I hear so much about lasers, but I honestly can't bring myself to go try them. I've heard they help some people, but then again, I've heard they make things worse for others...
Please, could you tell me a bit more about it?🙂

I decided to go through with it because my acne was everywhere and nothing else was touching it. It took about four or five sessions before my skin really cleared up, but you can see an improvement after every single one.🙂 One session costs roughly $100, though I also had dermabrasion done, which is basically just resurfacing the top layer of skin. The laser treatment itself doesn't really hurt; there's just a little stinging sensation, and it's over quickly. Honestly, it’s worth it, even if the price tag is pretty steep.😢
And of course, the initial consultation is $67

And it's not like I'm too old to want to do something about it.

I think I’ll probably just head over to the Mayo Clinic. I’ve had laser treatments done there before, and the staff was truly wonderful.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a reliable private dermatologist in the Chicago area? I’m looking to get some spider veins removed... There are just so many options online that it’s honestly overwhelming, and I really can't tell which ones are actually worth the money and time.😕
If you happen to know, could you also let me know roughly how much these treatments cost?
THANKS🙂
