Personally, I’d suggest seeing the dentist in suburban Philadelphia—Ivana Kožulj. She does great work and is super patient, too. I guess that's why so many parents bring their little kids to her. You can probably find more info on her website or maybe even her Facebook page.

@catty - regarding my shoulder, I went to the Ligament clinic over at Madison Square Garden to see Dr. Bućar. I was pretty happy with it.

look, don't just stick to dentists in your own neighborhood. that's like going in for surgery with whoever lives closest to your apartment. you have to care about quality, and it shouldn't be such a big deal to drive 20 minutes for medical care.
For instance, I go to a dentist in San Jose because I wasn't happy with my one in Chicago. I went based on a recommendation and was totally blown away, so now I don't mind driving out there whenever I need to (maybe once every three months).
