Hey there! I’m kind of lost on where to even ask this, so here goes... I was wondering, if I want to switch my primary care doctor, am I actually REQUIRED to go see my current one first?
The thing is, I found a doctor much closer to my place, so I wanted to swing by their office to see if they're even taking new patients. If they say yes, what’s the actual deal with the paperwork? Aside from getting some kind of sign-off over on Main Street, do I really have to trek all the way across town to my old doctor just to deal with medical records or whatever? Thanks

Long story short, about two months ago, a dog bit my right thumb.
The wound didn't heal right and ended up forming this nasty keloid. Now my doctor is referring me to a plastic surgeon because the scar tissue is actually messing with how I can move my thumb normally.
I'm looking for recommendations for a good surgeon or a hospital.

Did you get your tetanus shot? Look, if you only got it when you were a kid and it's been more than a decade, you need a booster—most adults don't bother until something actually happens to them...
You really should have gone straight to the doctor; they would've given you the shot right then and there after you told them about the dog bite..

One more thing—since I’ve got two different referrals but it’s all handled by one dermatologist anyway, I’m a bit lost on which clinic I actually fall under at Manhattan. Does anyone happen to know their office hours for making an appointment in person? I really don't want to trek all the way there just to find out they've already closed up for the day and have to walk all the way back empty-handed.

When I'm booking an appointment (basically via email since everything is centralized), is it possible to request a specific doctor? And if I already know certain dates won't work for me, can I mention that upfront? Or do they just ignore those emails and schedule whatever they want regardless?!

does anyone have a recommendation for a truly amazing dermatologist in Washington, D.C.? (And maybe tell me a little bit about them?!)??! I went to see someone at a clinic recently and honestly, nothing... they didn't even attempt to actually fix the issue.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good psychiatrist in Chicago? I don't really care if they work at a local clinic, one of the big hospitals, or in private practice—as long as the wait isn't forever... I'm looking for the doctor's name, their office hours, where they're located, and the cost if it's private, because the websites out there are useless and don't list any of that info.
