Looking for a specialist...

My apologies if this thread already exists; I just don't have the patience to keep scrolling through everything anymore... the more I look, the less I seem to find... :S
I’ve been living with Type 1 diabetes for 15 years now (I'm 18), and I've been managing it through the pediatric department at Mount Sinai Medical Center. To be blunt, I’m not happy with the nursing staff—with very few exceptions—and frankly, neither am I with Dr. Stipančić. She seems to be highly regarded only by a specific group of patients she happens to favor. Not once has she truly impressed me, nor has she ever offered a single word of genuine encouragement or support when things get heavy. She might be a brilliant scientist and a doctor, but she lacks the fundamental ability to actually connect with her patients... My HbA1C has consistently stayed around 6.70%, and over the last few years, it’s been down to 6.00%. Yet, despite that, she continues to criticize how I manage my condition. Sometimes I get the distinct feeling she’d be much happier if my levels were north of 15... That’s just my perspective based on 15 years of dealing with this, and I’m not interested in hearing anyone try to convince me otherwise. Anyway, back to why I'm here. I want to switch endocrinologists at a different hospital. Can anyone recommend a specialist you are genuinely satisfied with at Johns Hopkins Hospital? I'm looking for someone other than Dr. Dumić, assuming he’s still practicing at Johns Hopkins or Vvrhovac (though I feel a stronger pull toward Johns Hopkins)... also, would I still qualify under the pediatric wing?
