Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
Sorry if I used the word "alternative" a bit loosely there, but my question still stands—I'm looking for a truly high-quality gastroenterologist. 🙂Speaking from experience, I’ve tried several different medications that were recommended by doctors, and honestly, I haven't seen much improvement. So, should I really be letting those past experiences color my judgment? Just a rhetorical question, I guess. 🙂

Hi everyone,

I’m dealing with ulcerative colitis and acute gastritis. My colitis is actually in remission right now, and even when things flare up, I seem to bounce back pretty quickly (at least that's how it's been so far 😛). But man, my stomach has been giving me such a hard time lately. It really took a beating during a super stressful chapter of my life. Thankfully, that period is over, and I've started focusing on treatment. I’ve had two gastroscopies so far. The first one confirmed my diagnosis, and the second was because of intense pain and constant burping (which hit me hard during that stressful phase). During that second procedure, they actually found that my stomach lining had healed itself quite a bit. I think that happened because I was taking so many different medications prescribed to me, combined with the fact that I was struggling with anxiety and depression at the time. My gastroenterologist told me there isn't much else she can prescribe right now since my body reacted poorly to everything we tried, so she suggested Iberogast drops (though those haven't helped much either). I don't have the pain anymore, but this constant burping is driving me absolutely crazy 😁

Hey guys 😁 I feel like I've tried everything—homeopathic remedies, drops, tinctures, teas, various meds, royal jelly, liquid chlorophyll, vitamins, you name it... I generally eat very healthy, and I'm actually going to do a food intolerance test tomorrow. I try to stick to small meals, leave breaks between eating, and stay hydrated. Things are better than they used to be, but progress feels so slow. On average, I used to deal with over 50 bouts of burping a day, and now it’s down to maybe 30.

So, I'm looking for a gastroenterologist or a doctor, BUT someone who doesn't just rely on conservative medicine. I mean, I don't want to just swallow pills all day—I've already taken enough medication to last ten lifetimes! I'm looking for someone open to both traditional and natural/alternative approaches. Ideally, someone who understands both sides but can actually help fix my stomach issues. I know there might have been similar threads before, but I couldn't find anyone who fits exactly what I'm looking for (maybe I just missed it). I'm really hoping a kind soul out there can point me in the right direction 🙂
