Hey there. I’m currently on the hunt for a new general practitioner in New York City—ideally somewhere in Brooklyn, Utrina, or Travno—though I’m not picky about the neighborhood. My main priority is finding someone who acts like a normal human being, doesn't treat every single referral like it’s a personal favor, and won't make me sit in a waiting room for half the day. My current doctor has been my physician since I was ten years old, and honestly, it's just total chaos. I’ve grown used to it over the years, but I haven't actually lived in this area for twelve years now. Even when I do bother to visit her, it happens so rarely that her new nurse, who’s only been there a few years, actually looked at me like a stranger because she’d never seen my face before. The real issue, though, is that she’s incredibly stingy with referrals. Every single time I go, I end up stuck waiting forever. I remember coming in about ten years ago, straight from the ER with my leg in a cast, just needing her to sign off on my medical leave, and I had to wait nearly three hours just to be seen. It's the same story with referrals; even though my entire medical history is right there in front of her, she won't just process them in the system over the phone. She insists I show up in person, wait to be "examined," and only then will she begrudgingly release the paperwork. Luckily, I need her services so infrequently that I usually just shrug it off and deal with it, but it really is time for a change. Thanks in advance for any recommendations you can share.
