As for me, I’m still searching... so I can’t give out recommendations just yet. But my advice? Check out the thread specifically about braces.😉🙂

mistyranger11 said:Air polishing is basically like a high-pressure mini wash for your mouth. It blasts away the grime and polishes the teeth smooth. Supposedly, it doesn't hurt, unlike ultrasonic cleaning which can be a bit tender. I say "supposedly" because even the ultrasonic scaling didn't really bother me. 🙂
It's hard for me to tell if my teeth actually look any better now, at least when it comes to that polished finish. 🤷

Thanks, mistyranger11... you always come through for me... haha😁

😂😂😂😂🤣

So, is sandblasting actually better than just a standard cleaning job?

That’s exactly why I’m asking—I need to figure out if this covers orthodontics too, since I’m still out here hunting for a decent orthodontist.😢
It’s funny how that works. You ask someone for a bit of advice, and suddenly everyone goes stone-cold silent. It's like they all collectively decided to take a vow of silence the second you opened your mouth.😲🙄I mean, I was just thinking maybe they have a specialty or something...☕

She’s patient, thorough, and actually nice to be around. And honestly, why is everyone so obsessed with finding someone just because they live in the same zip code? It’s not about proximity; it’s about whether they actually know what they're doing.

Yeah, true... but does she just do general dentistry, or does she have a specific specialty?

She’s incredibly thorough and really takes her time. Honestly, I didn't even realize my Social Security Administration coverage included dental cleanings 😁 every six months.

Does she do ultrasonic scaling?😍I'm assuming that isn't covered by the SSA, right?🤷

mistyranger11 said:Look, Azinović is over at Mechanical 4, right in the heart of the city. He can handle tartar removal with ultrasound or sandblasting—it’s basically the same thing, just way less painful. Honestly, even the ultrasound didn't hurt me. As for the laser, it beats ozone any day; it's painless and actually works (some people claimed the ozone did nothing for them). I think ultrasound is around $67, but you should probably call and double-check. And like I mentioned, a laser repair is $100. One more thing: you can barely even tell my tooth was fixed because the laser doesn't grind down the enamel like a traditional drill does. 👍

Alright, fine, I'll go see him😉. It’s honestly refreshing to find a dentist who isn't a total butcher😂 like you say... the absolute worst part is being someone like me who's terrified of the chair, only to end up with a dentist who just wants to rip and drill everything out🥳....😲😛

Hey, I'm looking for a dentist recommendation in Chicago—somewhere downtown or close to the center so it isn't a massive trek for me. Also, has anyone actually dealt with ultrasonic scaling or ozone therapy? If you have, where did you go and what's the damage going to be like?
thanks
