Dealing with hemorrhoids in Health ·
Hey, I've been scrolling through this thread for like half an hour and finally decided to sign up just to vent about my own mess

So, here's the deal: I'm dealing with this too—external hemorrhoids. First time it hit me was when I was 18. Just this painful little lump on the outside, and man, I could barely sit through class one day
Basically, I didn't even know what it was back then. Thought it was just some minor inflammation, so I washed it with cold water and it cleared up after a couple of days. It was brutal for maybe a day or two, though

Then nothing for three years. Every now and then it would sting a bit briefly, but I didn't think much of it until two weeks ago when it popped up again. Same lump, same pain. It wasn't too bad and went away in a few days, but the lump stayed there
Well, the pain flared up again the day before yesterday, and today it’s the worst it’s ever been. That's why I'm out here scouring the internet and stumbled onto this thread

I had a medium-hard bowel movement this morning and it was absolutely agonizing. Now, it hurts even when I sneeze (I've got a slight pet allergy), when I walk, or when I sit down

The pain is somewhat manageable most of the time, but sneezing, blowing my nose, or bending over feels like a total nightmare

Question: Should I be freaking out? Usually, this stuff just goes away on its own in a few days, unlike the stories I'm reading here where people are suffering for weeks. The lump is about the size of a large grain of corn right now. Should I rush to the doctor or just go grab some Hemophagen?

I've got some store-bought chamomile tea, so I was thinking about trying a cold soak tonight

Honestly, I'm pretty confused. I don't get how mine just clears up in a few days while you guys have to try every single remedy under the sun just to get through it🤷
