Dealing with hemorrhoids
in Health ·
Hey everyone,
Just got back from the specialist... Here's the verdict: an anal fissure along with a tiny little 1 cm "sentinel" polyp located at, as the report puts it, 6 o'clock (military time😉). As if that wasn't enough, I've also got internal hemorrhoids. They aren't an issue right now and don't need surgery yet, but we have to address them eventually to avoid trouble down the road. I'm only 25.
The doctor recommended using some D-panthenol ointment, taking Fytolax to keep things soft, and doing chamomile sitz baths. Apparently, everything should be healed up in about two weeks. Then I go back for a follow-up, and we'll deal with the internal stuff.
I've actually been treating this lesion—which they're calling a fissure now—with Bepanthen, but nothing seems to work. Between the Colace, I was having a bowel movement every single day, so there just wasn't any time for it to heal.
So, I wanted to ask for your thoughts on this treatment plan. Is this the standard approach, or is there any alternative to what I've been prescribed?
Thanks for any info you can share.
