Dealing with hemorrhoids

I’m really not thrilled about being part of the "same old problem" club here, but hey, 😛
I didn't see anyone mention Baxter cream earlier, but honestly, that stuff works fast. It's got a propolis base so it acts like a mild analgesic.
You can grab it over the counter, by the way.
I’m getting more and more convinced that I’m eventually going to have to bite the bullet and head to the doctor—just to deal with someone poking around where the sun don't shine. This whole mess has been going on for about a month now; during those first three or four days, I couldn't even sit down or walk without feeling like I was being burned alive. Then it shifted to this constant itching, but luckily the Baxter stuff knocked that right out.🙂
Anyway, my gut feeling is that this isn't just going to clear up on its own and I'll probably need to have it surgically removed. So, I'm wondering—how long is the recovery before you can actually use the restroom again? And just generally, how does the whole process work?
