I am at my wit's end. This whole thing is exhausting—both mentally and physically—and going to the bathroom has become such a massive ordeal that I literally feel like screaming.

Look, speaking from experience, surgery helped me out a looooooot. You should seriously consider seeing a surgeon to see if they can give you a concrete plan immediately.

Look, I was at a level 4 out of 4—the absolute worst they can tell you—so surgery wasn't even up for debate. It was the only way out. I spent weeks jumping through all the hoops for the procedure: running tests, dealing with blood work, seeing the pulmonologist, the anesthesiologist, the internist... the whole nine yards. You even have to deal with blood transfusions if things go sideways. Then comes the hospital stay itself. Day one is basically just prep—you aren't eating anything, and you're stuck dealing with nothing but enemas. Then day two hits, you have the actual surgery, and then you start the recovery process. I ended up being stuck there for seven days because my recovery hit right during the Easter holiday weekend. But honestly? I had my surgery about a month ago, and I’ve got a follow-up appointment scheduled for tomorrow. Honestly? I think I finally kicked those damn issues for good. It was a nasty situation—really gross stuff—but man, was it worth it. Breathing just feels easier now. If you're struggling with that kind of thing, seriously, just go see a surgeon. In my opinion, it’s the only real way to actually fix the problem once and for all.

HEY EVERYONE, THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT. I JUST GOT HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL AFTER FINALLY GETTING THOSE DAMN HEMORRHOIDS OPERATED ON. MAN, I'VE BEEN SUFFERING WITH THIS FOR TEN YEARS STRAIGHT—TEN YEARS! I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS GETTING INTO, BUT HONESTLY? I'M JUST GLAD THAT NUISANCE IS FINALLY GONE.
THE SURGERY ONLY TOOK ABOUT HALF AN HOUR. THEY DID IT UNDER LOCAL ANESTHESIA—YOU KNOW, THAT SPINAL BLOCK WHERE THEY INJECT YOU IN THE LOWER BACK AND YOUR WHOLE LOWER BODY JUST GOES COMPLETELY NUMB. THE CATCH IS YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO LIE FLAT FOR 24 HOURS UNTIL THE ANESTHESIA WEARS OFF. WELL, OF COURSE, I WASN'T LISTENING. I GOT UP IN THE EVENING TO LIGHT A CIGARETTE AND TOTALLY WRECKED MYSELF. I spent the next two days dealing with a massive headache just because I didn't stay in bed like I was told. But today? Today I’m feeling way better. Honestly, the pain wasn't even bad enough to make you want to die. My surgeon in Naperville, Dr. Miller, was absolutely fantastic—the guy really knows his stuff. Plus, the nursing staff there was incredibly sweet. 😍😍😍👍👍👍

Then after a while, the hemorrhoids showed up. The military doctor used to give me this cream all the time—I'm sure I had a tube of Dove stuff in my kit.
It would flare up and then recede, just like that, for years. Then everything went totally haywire last Christmas. Colonoscopies, various doctors, endless pills, changing my diet, lifestyle tweaks—you name it—but nothing worked.

On March 24th of this year, they performed some kind of procedure on me—I don't even know what they did exactly (still haven't gotten my discharge papers, I'll have to call them). The doctor told me the procedure went perfectly, everything according to plan.
But man, the recovery? It’s brutal. I finally managed to take a massive dump today, and trust me, you really don't want to hear about that experience!
It feels like the pain is slowly starting to ease up a bit; I'm needing Tylenol less frequently now, but let me tell you, it still hurts like hell.

I'm looking for anyone who's actually gone through this exact thing—please, share your direct experiences.

I'm heading in for surgery tomorrow. Reading this post has me pretty spooked, but I've got no choice—I can't wait any longer. I've been suffering for years and I just have to grit my teeth and get it over with.
