Blood on the toilet paper in Health ·
Hahah, I'm not gay😁... though the hypochondria might actually fly if I didn't have symptoms popping up every single day🙂
I actually got labeled a hypochondriac once before when I was convinced I had mono; my doctor insisted it was just a standard case of strep throat, yet I went to see Fran Mihaljević and turned out to be EBV positive.
Solid diagnoses, clearly.😁

Hahahha, House is always right😁 It’s hard to wrap your head around the idea of a twelve-year-old dealing with a massive external hemorrhoid, yet it’s the unfortunate reality for a child I know. Seeing that tiny speck of blood on the toilet paper every single day is such a heavy psychological burden for them, even if it doesn't impact my own life much... what's even more frustrating is that when I asked the doctors for help, they wouldn't even suggest anything beyond a basic physical exam or a quick touch test.

It’s been weighing on me because I seem to see a tiny speck or a faint streak of blood almost every single day. I try to eat as well as I can, but honestly, the food at the campus dining hall isn't exactly gourmet, and being a student living in a rental far from home means my budget doesn't leave much room for high-quality produce or fresh greens.😢

They told me there was no need for a physical exam on the chair. I deal with pretty sensitive skin—it flakes constantly, especially on my face, which tends to get quite red, though the peeling happens elsewhere too. To make matters worse, I have allergic reactions to most facial creams. My daily routine involves sitting for most of the day because the workload at my university is just relentless. As for anxiety—I tend to worry about everything; the coursework is incredibly demanding. I also notice more irritation after eating spicy food (which I absolutely love) or having a beer. Today, there were significantly more blood spots on the paper than usual, but that’s likely because I went a bit overboard yesterday with some spicy chips, a few beers, and various other snacks...

Casey Robinson7 As stated by:
One should consider substituting toilet paper for a mild soap and lukewarm water; when dealing with these kinds of issues, maintaining strict hygiene is paramount. As your doctor suggested, you are likely looking at internal hemorrhoids. A disciplined diet is also vital, a point that has been well-documented here already. Personally, I find it quite irresponsible to frighten a young man with scares about colon cancer and similar ailments. As for those claims suggesting colon cancer develops silently for ten to fifteen years without any symptoms, I shall refrain from commenting entirely.👎

It seems to me that whenever I use a bit too much pressure with the paper, it’s as if I’m irritating the lining, resulting in a few streaks of blood. Aside from that, there is a persistent, slight itching and stinging sensation.

I’ll give this another shot, though I have to say, I'm getting quite frustrated with our doctors here. Given how many specialists I've already consulted, they really should have referred me for a colonoscopy or a rectoscopy by now; instead, it seems much easier for them to just brush it off as hemorrhoids.😢
Many thanks for all the advice you've shared.🙂

I tried adjusting my diet, sticking to a strict liver-friendly regimen—mostly boiled foods—for about a month after being diagnosed with mononucleosis when I was eight months old.🙂 There was a slight improvement, but as soon as I reverted to my regular eating habits, the symptoms returned. I'm planning to see a doctor soon to request a colonoscopy. Does anyone know if that procedure is actually painful compared to just having a physician perform manual palpation?

I’m 21 years old, and for about three or four years now, I’ve been seeing small spots or streaks of bright red blood on the toilet paper every few days. A couple of years back, my primary doctor suggested it might be a fissure. Later, another physician suspected internal hemorrhoids and referred me to a specialist; after a manual exam, he concluded nothing seemed unusual, suggesting they were likely internal hemorrhoids and advising a simple change in diet. About seven months ago, I saw a new doctor who sent me to a dermatologist. The dermatologist diagnosed some external inflammation and prescribed various creams, but neither helped. Recently, after dealing with some harder stools, there was a bit more bleeding than usual. Otherwise, it’s just those occasional little spots or thin lines of bright blood every few days. It isn't particularly painful—just some itching or a slight sting sometimes after using the bathroom. Since I spend most of my day sitting while studying for college, I wonder if that plays a role. I know people deal with much worse, yet this is weighing on my mind quite heavily. What should I do? They haven't agreed to send me for a colonoscopy.
