Where is this person actually getting treated, what’s the latest on their recovery, and how did things even get this bad in the first place?

I'm taking Seroxat specifically for panic attacks, and I have absolutely no intention of being on pills for the rest of my life for something I feel I can handle on my own through sheer willpower...

Just do it then. If you can't make it work on your own, go to the hospital.

Maybe I just can't handle this much stress right now. It probably wasn't the best idea to start taking them while my life is such a total mess...

Man, I have no clue, but I'll shoot you a PM.

Daniel Garcia8 said:Hey...

I was prescribed Percocet 3 x1, then 2x1 on the first day, but when I took my first dose on Saturday morning, I hit a massive panic attack. Like, the worst one I've had in ages: racing heart, brain fog, sweaty palms, dizziness, headache... basically, I felt dead...

Anyway, the doctor gave me this for headaches and vertigo since my psychiatrist says there’s nothing seriously wrong with my mental health. I actually ended up seeing the psychiatrist because my neurologist suggested it.
I called her immediately the next day, but she just brushed me off saying the meds shouldn't cause that (even though those are literally listed as side effects!) and mentioned I'm also taking Xanax 3 x1. I was absolutely wiped out from the Percocet, and now having to take that on top of the Xanax... honestly, going from "nothing wrong" to full-blown psych issues is happening fast...

I had a majorly stressful thing happen this week—my puppy passed away—so maybe it wasn't even the right time to start new medication. I don't know, what do you guys think?

I am beyond furious. On top of everything else hitting me right now, I have to fight these panic attacks that are totally draining me...

She gave me Xanax to try instead of Ativan, just to see which works better. I took it yesterday and it didn't touch the dizziness at all (which Ativan usually handles), and I was just incredibly drowsy.
I'm lost. I haven't started the AD yet, so I guess I'll just wait until I can talk to my neurologist again.

Are these normal side effects? Because for me, it was brutal. I deal with panic attacks sometimes, but I can usually manage them—this was totally out of my control.

Sorry for the long vent...

thanks

It could be that the AD hasn't kicked in yet, but you should definitely talk to both your neurologist and your psychiatrist.

Maybe grab a water bottle to carry around, or honestly, just some candy to munch on. That’s pretty much the first thing popping into my head right now.
gentlebison152 said:Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone here has dealt with something similar lately...
Yesterday, I had this super scary moment while sitting down—suddenly my left eye went totally blind, and the entire right side of my body just froze up. It only lasted a few seconds, and I stayed fully conscious the whole time. I headed straight to the ER today, but they couldn't really give me any concrete answers. On my paperwork, they listed the diagnosis as TIA. They’ve already referred me for an MRI, a CT scan, a consultation with a specialist at the Mayo Clinic, a fundus oculi exam, and an appointment with an ophthalmologist. Could someone walk me through what these tests actually entail? Like, what should I be expecting from all this??

I might be getting some things mixed up—brain MRI, the Doppler is probably for blood flow in the neck, the Goldman thing is likely for checking vision fields, fundus oculi is just looking at the back of the eye, and then the ophthalmologist will probably run more tests that I have zero clue about.

Andrew Turner67 said:Has anyone here actually taken these pills? I'm curious about how they worked for you. Also, can you just pick them up off the shelf, or do you need a prescription from a doctor? Thanks in advance...

You need a prescription. Honestly, they didn't do much for me, but hey, maybe you'll have better luck. It's all different for everyone.
Help, this is urgent! in Health ·
If she dealt with bulimia back in fifth grade and now it’s resurfacing in her freshman year of high school—seriously, someone get her to a hospital right now. It shouldn't just "randomly" come back like this. I know people who have struggled with eating disorders, specifically anorexia, and gone through those cycles multiple times, and they need urgent medical help. For all we know, it could be a bacterial infection, food poisoning, something neurological, or purely psychological. In my opinion, she should at least head straight to an ER for a neurological checkup first. And she absolutely has to be honest with the doctors; she needs to lay everything out on the table about what’s been happening.
Look, let's not sit here playing doctor ourselves. Just go: straight to the emergency room and get her admitted.
Yeah, I’d actually be pretty interested in hearing more about this too.

So, I guess we’ve actually learned a thing or two about how to deal with a common cold now.

Man, you guys aren't the only ones. I might as well join the club at this point. My nose is basically a leaky faucet today. Everyone at the office is giving me these weird looks, too. It’s honestly ridiculous—this whole thing always seems to hit me right when autumn rolls around. Just my luck, I guess.
Lisa Jackson84 said:The Secretary of Health needs to be fired immediately. That’s the only way. And don't even get me started on the administration.

The guy is dealing with complications from the very first antibiotic he was prescribed, and now they won't give him the second one just because they're pinching pennies so the HHS Secretary can brag about how much money they "saved" in the healthcare budget.

Doesn't that lab report say a primary care doctor is allowed to prescribe a different medication instead?
Kimberly Ward said:You really need to see a doctor first. They’ll give you a referral, because your hemoglobin is tanking, plus your iron is low, and I think your TIBC is hitting that upper limit of 75—not that I'm an expert or anything. Like budabudimir said, go to your GP and then get a hematologist.

And my veins could be swollen too.
Ryan Wilson95 said:I need some advice!
I'm wondering if I should see someone beyond my primary care doctor based on these results:

hemoglobin 68
hematocrit 0.240
mcv 60.7
mch 17.1
mchc 282
rdw 17.6
iron 2.3
tibc 70

Where is all my iron going? I’m not dieting, I don’t drink, I don’t smoke... maybe I just work a little harder than most, but that shouldn't be an issue, right?😉
Also, my legs are constantly swollen—could that be related?
Thanks in advance🙂:

Best bet is to go back to the doctor first, and they'll send you wherever you need to go. That hemoglobin is incredibly low, plus the iron levels, and I think the TIBC is getting pretty close to that upper limit of 75 (if I remember correctly). Like that other user mentioned, you basically need a doctor plus a hematologist.
Carol Kelly34 said:Can anyone here who actually knows what they're talking about explain this to me... or even just give me some clarity? About a year ago, my husband was told he had high white blood cell counts. He basically brushed it off, and now the exact same thing is happening again (it keeps flagging on his routine physicals). He’s done all the tests and nothing significant shows up, so now they're sending him in for a bone marrow biopsy... I'm wondering, is that procedure done because they suspect something like leukemia, or is it just a preventative precaution? His white cell count hits 13 sometimes, drops to 11, but that's about it. Everything else, like his ESR and stuff, looks totally normal... Do we have any reason to be terrified right now? Thanks in advance!!🙏

White blood cell counts can spike just from simple inflammation or an infection. Honestly, let him get the biopsy done—it could turn out to be something completely trivial, or maybe just a standard precaution, but don't drive yourself crazy over it. If you obsess, you'll just end up stressed out and mentally exhausted. Let him go through with it, and then you'll finally know.
Also, I'm no medical expert, so hopefully someone who actually is will chime in here.

Jose Perez78 said:Stumbled onto this forum looking for some info. I started taking Zoloft the other day and honestly, I can barely stay upright. Just constant fatigue, feeling drained, stomach issues, zero libido... I'm thinking about quitting. Should I just push through or head back to my doctor for something else? These pills feel way too strong for me, I guess.
Any advice would be huge, thanks.
Philip

Go find a different treatment, because maybe the Ad Zoloft just isn't right for you. That's exactly how it went for me.
I felt literally drunk. Instead of calming me down, it made everything worse—honestly, I think a glass of wine would've worked better.

Sarah Taylor20 said:I also want to find a way to get everything checked out all at once. Like, blood work, hormones, checking my organs, blood pressure, veins, lung function from smoking...
I don't even know what else, but it needs to cover absolutely everything. And I mean top-tier, high-end stuff. Like $500 let's say 🙂

Now, maybe nobody is posting about this because they aren't allowed to advertise or whatever, but man, I would love to just gather all that info in one go.
If anyone has actually done this, please tell me exactly what you had done and how much it cost.

Thanks

As for the price being under $500, honestly, I doubt it'll happen.

Eminem said:man, why are you all obsessing over these meds for no reason? 🙄 ☕

If you actually realized how many people are struggling, you wouldn't be making fun of them—you'd be helping. But clearly, you don't get it. Plus, let's face it, trying to find a therapist or a psychiatrist is still such a huge stigma here in the States for a lot of people.
Shoutout to the ones who actually get it, though.

Nicole Barrett76 said:Oh, I certainly have my own coverage. However, isn't it truly heartbreaking to think of all those people struggling through gig work and freelance contracts, where nobody is contributing even a single cent toward their medical coverage? Surely, there must be so many left behind in such a precarious position.

Actually, for independent contractor work, they still have to pay into Social Security and Medicare unless the laws just changed or something.
