@ruggedmarlin15 honestly, dropping a 'live' album tells me absolutely zero about an artist's actual talent 🤷 I have no clue what your point is or what you're even trying to get at by claiming MJ didn't release 'live' albums because I don't see how that connects to anything, so are you implying he was always lip-syncing and therefore there was no point in releasing live albums since they'd sound identical to the studio versions, or something else entirely..? 🤷
He released concert DVDs, which is honestly way better than just putting out a live CD.
Look, I'm a huge MJ fan and I've watched countless videos, concerts, live performances, and interviews... and the only time he ever used playback was during the HIStory tour because he was dealing with laryngitis, so he didn't just cancel shows, he just performed certain songs partially on playback.
And why on earth would you think a good chunk of the songs in the movie were performed on playback? 🤷
Do you seriously believe Michael Jackson would ever allow himself to be embarrassed by lip-syncing during his final concerts?
The guy was a total perfectionist who gave everything he had, so in that film, he maybe used playback for a maximum of three songs, not eight like you're claiming! 😂 Besides, there are over 100 hours of rehearsal footage available, and just because some clips of Jam are integrated into the film using playback doesn't mean he sang Jam on playback every single time, you know? 🙂

I genuinely don't understand what you're trying to say with these posts or this whole thing about him 'not releasing' live CDs (😕 and I really don't get why you think concert DVDs aren't enough).

I don't get why you'd expect a ton of footage showing accidents or mishaps backstage; it’s pretty obvious that when you're prepping for a massive concert, the cameras are mostly focused on stage rehearsals so they can review and analyze the performance later.

What I'm saying is that there would've been way more recorded conversations behind the scenes if they actually knew the guy was dying; as it stands, I don't see much reason why they would have gone out of their way to do that.

The movie is just what they had available to work with, plain and simple, and honestly, I thought it was surprisingly good.

Yeah, you've got a point there, because that opening sequence was killer. 😉
I felt like it would've been cool if they included just one (un)lucky moment behind the scenes—not like a hundred different clips 😉 but still—though I guess the rehearsals are more important since they give us a real look at how the concert was supposed to go down.

I'm sure they filmed some conversations, especially since there's about a hundred hours of footage out there, but maybe those specific tapes were just for his private collection and were handed over to his family.

I'm not saying the movie wasn't great, because it was absolutely FANTASTIC 😍
and I wouldn't change a single thing about it, really. I'm just saying it would have been nice to see a little bit of that "behind the scenes" stuff to get a glimpse of that side of things. 😛😉

@crimsonstag59 : solid post 🙂 really gives you something to chew on.
Anyway, I’ve scrolled through like 75,000 videos debating whether he actually passed away or not, seeing all sorts of evidence claiming he's still out there, and honestly, the whole thing is just fascinating and makes you think. To be real, if anyone was ever going to fake their own death, it would be MJ. I’m not saying he was crazy or anything weird, but the pressure he was under from every single direction was insane, especially with the media absolutely wrecking his life with their nonsense, twisting his image until everyone turned on him and created all those haters.

Even in the movie, he pulled off at least eight different things either fully or partially on Playback.
People really just need to open their eyes, clear their heads, and actually use their brains.

Why does everyone assume he can't sing like he used to?
(Not just talking about you, 😉) Why does everything have to be Playback if it sounds just as incredible as the studio album? -.-
Maybe he used Playback for two things, but there's no way it was for eight.

driftingeagle27 said:Whose, though? It's not like those people knew he was actually going to die, so why would they be out there interviewing him every single day?

Whose, exactly? Well, obviously his own and his entire crew's (the singer, the dancers, all that).
It doesn't matter if they knew he was dying before the first show or not; you really think they wouldn't have been "interviewed"?

By the way, I wasn't talking about a formal interview, I meant more like behind-the-scenes stuff, just random things said that don't necessarily have to tie back to the songs 😛 and there was definitely plenty of that happening. 🙂

Yeah, maybe they could've thrown in a few more clips of interviews or actual conversations and stuff. But honestly, the whole point of the film is just to give you a sense of what the vibe was supposed to be—showing his state of mind, how he moves, and how he sings at fifty, which is why they stuck mostly to rehearsal footage. 🙂

I really have to step in here because I totally disagree with the idea that Michael contributed the least or had the smallest part in making that spectacle happen. Look, the dancers, the band, and the backup singers are all incredible, I'll give them that. But Michael is just on another level entirely. Sure, he's got some age on him and he's twice as old as the rest of the crew, that's a fact. But for a fifty-year-old... 😲 he is in absolute PEAK condition! You would never guess his age. Watching him move with that kind of effortless grace, I was basically sitting there looking like this: 😲😲🙏

In my book, his voice stayed flawless too. 😍 If someone feels differently, that's fine, but it felt to me like the production focused way more on the choreography, the special effects, and the cinematic transitions before the songs rather than just raw vocals. Whether he was belting it out or just pacing himself, he sounds perfect! 😍

I’ve already watched this movie twice and it’s honestly incredible!

MJ is in peak condition here, his dancing is flawless, his vocals are stunning, and he just comes across as so humble, sweet, and almost boyishly innocent 😍
He’s a world-class performer, but more importantly, he’s just a genuinely great human being.
I really wish he could have experienced even just one live concert. 😢

man 😍

I'm heading out today 😍
I seriously can't wait!

Btw does anyone happen to have the link for that Michael Jackson fan forum over in the States?
