How do I use Multi-Quote?

What exactly am I supposed to delete, what do I need to add, or which buttons should I be clicking to get everything looking right? Honestly, I’ve been scrolling through these forums reading one person say one thing and then another person saying the complete opposite, and it’s leaving me totally lost—nothing I try seems to work! Can someone just give me a straight answer, like a standard forum setup where you list the username and then the text right next to it? I’m seriously at my wit's end here. 😕 Thanks in advance 🙂
