So, I got my contacts about a week ago, and I’ve been falling down an internet rabbit hole looking for tips and stuff... stumbled onto this thread while searching and honestly, I felt this on a spiritual level. It was the exact same struggle for me. Every single time I try to get them in, my eyes just start blinking uncontrollably and my lids slam shut. I can't win... tried a thousand times before I finally nailed it. My biggest hurdle at first was just figuring out which side was which, but once I looked it up online, I got the hang of it. You just gotta practice... and seriously, hold those eyelids back as hard as you can. I'm still working on it though, because I usually get the right one in fine, maybe tear up a little, and call it a day... but the left eye? It takes me like five or six tries just to get it in. And then half the time I have it in crooked, so I'm constantly messing with it, or if it's just not happening, I have to pull it out and restart the whole damn process. Just stay persistent and keep practicing, everything will click eventually...

hey... got a question for you guys... I’ve been rocking glasses for like 10 years straight, and honestly? I was just totally over them. So yesterday, I finally went to the eye doctor to get my prescription updated... I was in the exam room for maybe 10 minutes tops... but fast forward to this morning, and now after getting home from school, I seriously cannot get these things on... I mean, I feel like I'm doing everything the doctor told me to do, but my eyes just reflexively slam shut... can anyone tell me if it was like this for you when you first got new lenses? Everyone keeps telling me to just stick with it and that I'll get used to them, but I'm a massive pessimist by nature, so right now... I just feel like I'm failing at this... please let me know if you have any advice or if you've dealt with this before... thanks... cosmictiger9
