So, these Acuvue Oasys lenses—they're silicone-based, right? Hmm... If that's the case, I should probably just go ahead and order them—since I end up wearing my contacts for about 12 hours a day anyway...

If he had just explained everything clearly from the jump, it would have been a totally different story, but as it stands... Honestly, thank goodness this forum exists...
So... I’ve been wearing Bausch & Lomb Optima soft contact lenses for a few years now, and honestly, I’ve been perfectly happy with them—both in terms of how they feel and what they cost. But recently, I switched to a new eye doctor, and he’s trying to push these Johnson & Johnson lenses on me that are twice the price. His reasoning? Well, he told me, "I wouldn't recommend those old lenses you used to wear anymore; there’s more and more talk in the US that they might be pulled from the market and things like that." Now, my understanding was that the only thing ever recalled was one specific batch of Bausch & Lomb solution, not the actual lenses... and I haven't heard a single bad thing about the lenses themselves. Is this gentleman just trying to move some high-margin inventory, or are people actually having real issues with these products??? 😕
