Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
My motherboard is about three years old, a Gigabyte GA-7N400-L, so I doubt it has an auto-recovery feature... 😁
I definitely have the battery, though. 🙂

I have a quick question. I haven't been following this thread from the very beginning, so if you guys have already covered this, please excuse me.

Just a moment ago, I tried overclocking my graphics card (an ATI Radeon 9200—it's a bit of a relic, but I did what I could) and I think I pushed the clock speed a little too far, because the screen just went black. I restarted the computer and everything went back to how it was. Now the MHz isn't quite as high as I intended, but they are still a bit elevated, I guess.

A few months back, some friends were telling me about how they overclocked their CPUs, doing this and that, so I figured, why not me? So, I went into the BIOS, bumped up the frequency, saved, and rebooted. The computer just started beeping at me and wouldn't boot up. A friend of mine fixed it for me by reverting everything to the original settings, but I'm wondering (and asking you all) how he actually did it. He opened the case, messed around with some components inside, and the computer started up normally. What exactly did he do? I asked him, but he says he doesn't remember (?!).
