Fainted during a blood draw
in Health ·
I deal with this too...
It’s not even psychological fear, per se.
I’m not actually afraid of needles or blood; it’s just a minor discomfort, nothing major. But afterward, I sometimes feel physically ill.
For instance, a few days ago when I went in for blood work... everything started fine. I spent quite a while waiting in the lobby at the clinic, they drew my blood, and then—bam. As soon as I stood up and sat back down in the waiting area, the dizziness hit. Nausea, lightheadedness, black spots dancing in my vision... it was awful. Honestly thought I was going to pass out right there. It lasted about five or six minutes.
Even drinking juice immediately didn't help.
Anyway, after about ten minutes, I felt fine again.
This has happened before. One time I actually fainted completely. Then again, other times, absolutely nothing happens.
