Just seeing the news about the evacuations in France and Spain and man, 300,000 people fleeing is a massive number. It feels like these wildfire seasons are getting longer and more destructive every single year. Is anyone else noticing these extreme weather patterns happening way more often lately?

Project: Find a Friend (Classifieds / Meetup Thread) in Psychology & Therapy ·
I'm 32, living in Washington, D.C., married, no kids, and honestly, I still live for hitting up concerts, gigs, and clubs on the weekend with my husband and a close friend. I rarely bother with the whole "grabbing coffee" thing because, I don't know, it feels a bit boring and I just can't be bothered; I usually have plenty of other stuff to do during the week, and frankly, staying home is often more interesting than sitting in a cafe. So, most of my social life happens on the weekends. During the week, I'm down to chat online if anyone's interested. Occasionally, I'll go for a walk if I'm feeling up to it. I don't have an official diagnosis, but personally, I feel like I deal with some mild depression, long-term insomnia, and anxiety. Primarily, I’d love to hear from women around my age (give or take, say 25-40) to get to know each other through messaging first, then maybe hang out, catch some rock shows, grab a beer, or whatever. I'm looking for women who aren't expecting constant coffee dates and won't hold it against me if I skip them. Though, I guess it's not entirely ruled out. Guys can reach out too if you're looking for friendship, though people always say male-female friendships don't exist. When I first meet someone, I might come off as stiff, stuck-up, or arrogant, but I promise I'm not a bad person—I think it's just the anxiety talking. I think I can be a pretty good friend overall, but I'll admit I'm not the type to check in during the week just to ask how you are, and I definitely tend to run late when we meet up (though I always send a heads-up). It's hard for me to change that; I've tried, but I just can't, so I'd love to find people who won't mind. I love everything the younger crowd loves—music, movies—and I generally have a creative streak. I'm open to listening to (at least) new ideas, interests, and viewpoints. Politically, I lean extremely left, but I don't care if you have different views (conservative or otherwise) as long as you don't push them on me or disrespect mine. I don't change my mind easily since I tend to analyze things deeply before forming a long-term stance. Unless, of course, you have truly legitimate arguments. I hope I don't sound weird; I'm just trying to be honest and list the flaws that have annoyed my friends in the past, so there are no disappointments or unmet expectations later on.😵Best regards!
