Hey there.
Has anyone dealt with slightly elevated Leuk (10.7), ESR (15), and total calcium at 2.63? My GP isn't concerned, and everything else looks normal. Just a heads up—I had gallbladder surgery about ten months ago.

Hey everyone,
Has anyone dealt with acute pancreatitis before? Also, wondering if you can start the process for disability benefits.
Tissue biopsy (ulcer) in Health ·
Anyone know how long the wait is for biopsy results? Also, has anyone here dealt with an ulcer or something similar in their stomach?

I don't have a definitive answer for you, but I dealt with folliculitis on my right thigh and it was a nightmare to get rid of—especially the dark spots left behind.

Those pimple-like bumps under the skin didn't respond to anything; antibiotics, steroids, ointments... nothing.
The doctors were guessing at first—maybe a massage oil allergy, then bacterial inflammation, then ovarian issues, then this, then that... I saw several dermatologists from Washington, D.C. all the way to San Francisco before finally getting referred through friends to an amazing specialist in Brooklyn 🙏 who was blunt with me. She admitted they'd only seen a case like mine once before and said there's no magic fix—it either clears up on its own or sticks around for years (like their one patient who's had it on her hand for over 20 years).
She suggested trying a tanning bed, and honestly, that actually worked.

Just to be clear—I did all the allergy tests and bacterial swabs, and everything came back negative.

As for the scarring, I cleared it up by using evening primrose oil for about six months.

For me, the whole thing lasted two years. It just showed up out of nowhere... 🙄

My dermatologist says it's definitely folliculitis, so she put me on a cream and some antibiotics. If it gets worse or if new bumps pop up, I'll go back to the clinic to get swabs done for bacterial typing, just in case. I'll keep your doctor in Brooklyn in mind.
Ankle ultrasound: what to expect? in Health ·
With private doctors, it’s more or less the same story across the board. The only real difference is which one you end up choosing. Ideally, they should do their own research, make a diagnosis, and suggest a treatment plan. My advice? If you already have test results, don't show them right away. Too often, when a private specialist sees a pre-existing history, they just agree with whatever you brought in because they don't want the extra work. It’s sad, but it happens. Make sure you demand a detailed explanation of everything—it's your right, especially since you're paying top dollar. Good luck.
Folliculitis or sebaceous glands? in Health ·
Hey.
Does anyone know if folliculitis can cause those subcutaneous lumps that look more like boils? Or could it be clogged sebaceous glands causing them instead?
Dealing with ingrown hairs in Health ·
Recently, I've been getting these bumps near my pubic area—basically just above the groin. They swell up, then shrink once they drain. Given how much I hit the gym, I’m guessing it’s just sweat and friction, but I wanted to see if anyone knows what I'm dealing with.
