Jason Johnson4 said:PS. A coworker of mine (who’s a member of JUSZH) was telling me about this time they were moving some of Spamijijev's books. Because it was raining, someone opened one up and set it face down to shield it, and people there literally lost their minds 😲 because His 🙏 image was on the cover, and apparently, it's total blasphemy to let rain fall on the "guru's" face 😁

What a joke... 🙄

I think your coworker might have a bit too much of an imagination, but whatever you say.
🤣
I mean, what kind of idiot tries to use a book as an umbrella? 🤣
Real blasphemy would be ruining the book; I doubt the Guru cares one bit about a little rain on a picture 😁

True, but Khatu pranayama is the gold standard, girl—don't let us look bad out there.😬

ONTOPIC: Let’s not forget that if you aren't getting enough sleep, all the working out in the world won't save you in the long run.
Same goes for eating high-quality food in moderation.

So what exactly is happening in Miami and what's the deal?🙄

Look, if you want to repeat those charming little insults right to my face, go ahead. 😈

Let me know if you're actually showing up, so I can lace up my sneakers. 😈

Anyway, here:

The worst part... hmm 🤔

Joining a cult? 😈 🤣

Meeting Elvis Presley? 😲

I got it! Instead of chanting hymns, they just blast Severina on loop 😲

Man, you skeptics... I know a guy who was called by the guru, and he turned around and broke his toe. 😁

Right in the middle of the desert. 🤣

So yeah, don't mess around 😈

Take a page out of Anandamargi's book—arm yourselves so nobody even thinks about testing you. 😈 🤣

Remember that story where a group of guys drove a bus straight into some HK ashram just to stir the pot, and the residents actually started defending themselves?
They absolutely wrecked them—bus and all—and I heard they even pulled some small firearms from under the beds. 😁

I'm out. 👋

Catch you guys after my tour on Wednesday.

If you're brave enough to swing by Umag, hit me up. 😁

Godfather, Mano, I wouldn't even get worked up about it. Even though it’s super rude to insult people like this, it feels like he's just going through what our Uncle calls "acting out."

Basically, it's the habit of taking things that are supposed to be "sacred," special, or high-minded and dragging them down to the level of a cheap curse word—just as a way to release some lifelong mental baggage.

On the flip side, you have the process of a mental (religious) breakdown, so it's not necessarily all bad. (Think about those brainwashed ultra-religious fanatics out there. If they had actually cracked a joke or understood the humor in the Bible once in a while, they wouldn't be staring at church paintings where everyone is constantly suffering, bleeding, or crying).

Swamidji would probably respond just like his respected teacher: tell him to keep insulting us as much as he wants, and not to stop until he actually starts feeling better. 😉

Deep down, you know he doesn't actually mean anything malicious. It just bugs us because we have different experiences, but hey, he's allowed to be offensive. That's just how the world works.

It's just his own version of therapy, and for us, it's an opportunity to observe how we perceive our Teacher. A few curse words aren't going to break us, right? 😉

And Godfather, Karen Sanchez19, I'm asking nicely: please respect the sensitive feelings of Godfather Mano and FW instead of picking apart everything on the keyboard... 😁

...otherwise, we're going to have to shut him down and knock some sense into him. 😈

😁

There's my two cents. 😎

unknown said:Alright then, so I guess I should bring it? 😁 Just making sure I don't take offense, obviously...

I’d be too embarrassed to show up to Ramakrishna looking like this... I mean, the guy knew better than anyone how to stay away from people... once his favorite student (he considered him a spiritual son and he was basically the "main guy" alongside Vivek) came to see him and he couldn't even touch him... after asking around, he found out the guy had accidentally eaten something specific that day. 😁

If I showed up like that, I probably couldn't even walk through the front door... the whole building would likely just collapse. 🤣

And honestly... I’d personally ask him about it... but doing that over the phone feels pretty stupid... plus, I have a habit of dumping my dilemmas on other people, even if it's annoying... unless, of course, he was my guru 😁 Maybe I'll write that unknown if I can pull it together without sounding like some careless provocateur 😁

I don't know, but we all know Samsung is the big player here. 😳

Just bring it, bring it. We all know us "spiritual types" are super sensitive. 😁

Besides, why would you be embarrassed in front of a guru? Who knows what kind of stuff he's already seen.

No saint has a perfectly clean past (and neither do we 😁 )

If you showed up, it means you want to change and grow, and he’d have to accept that.

Write the unknown—keep it short and sweet, and seal it with kisses and tears. 😁

And hey, if you have a connection in the sect, maybe it'll actually reach him.

So, you got a connection?

Well, do ya, punk? 😁

Look, I know I'm a bit of a jerk and a total misanthrope, but I wouldn't even bother reaching out if I didn't have his number 😁 At worst, I can always just drop him an 😁

Wait, so you aren't getting the authentic imported Nutella? Sounds like more for me then. 🥳

unknown, I never said I wouldn't 😁

I have to say this just so you don't take it personally 😁

And what would someone like Ramakrishna do anyway? He’d probably just be leaving sticky notes on a bulletin board somewhere 😁

If you've got questions, just ask. It's not like He's here for no reason 😉

And how do you know I don't have a gorgeous blonde, feminine 🙂 type waiting in the wings?

Karen Sanchez19 said:dude, I honestly have no idea what you're even talking about🙄

Sadly, there isn't an emoji out there that can actually capture how ridiculous this is. 😢

You'll just have to live with the fact that I don't exist, the stuff I'm saying doesn't exist (since there's nobody here to say it), and you aren't even here to be confused by it. 😎

Karen Sanchez19 said:What kind of freaking development is this?
Development of what, exactly?🙄

So, you’re looking at this whole idea of "development"—whatever that actually is—and trying to figure out how to get to the truth of the matter. Here’s the kicker: once you really strip everything back, you realize there isn't actually any development happening at all. There’s no such thing as being "undeveloped" or "developed," which means there’s no middle ground either. If those states don't even exist, then the entire process of change is just an illusion.

There’s no road, because there isn't even a distance to travel.

What we’re actually dealing with here is just this illusion of motion—it feels like we're going somewhere, but it's all relative, not absolute.

If you're on a subway train heading forward at some velocity V...I guess we're talking about the light rail now? Or are we just venting about public transit in general? Either way, I'm listening. You’re basically sprinting backward at Mach V.I don't know what you're trying to get at with that, but I'm not following.Even if V is...I'm pretty sure I just saw someone try to board an Amtrak train with a literal shopping cart. Like, buddy, we aren't at a grocery store, we're trying to get to Chicago. Just walk.=VvtrčHonestly, you aren't even moving, yet somehow you're already breaking a sweat. 😁

Forget the subway—just grab a bike. 😬

And hey, maybe skip the swearing too. It just makes you look like you haven't quite reached full maturity yet. 🤣

Alex Rogers96 said:The more bliss you have, the less growth happens.
If you’re too blissful, you lose the drive to improve because everything feels perfect just the way it is.
Bliss is a dead end.

Spot on, if we're talking about that intense bliss felt in the Anahata chakra—that heart stuff—which totally stunts growth because it feels so good you never want to leave.

But I think people are actually talking about general bliss, which doesn't have to be this heavy "heart-centered" or ecstatic thing, but more of a steady state for your spirit (and your body, mind, and all that other jazz). 😁

Then again, maybe I'm just full of it! 😁

slyviper47 said:it’s pretty much impossible to put into words. You either feel it or you don't—kind of like love. People have been trying to describe love forever, but if you haven't experienced it, the descriptions don't mean squat.

And yeah... that sense of pure bliss isn't exactly something you can hold onto forever. Very few people actually live in that state long-term. Some mystics have even written about how nearly impossible it is to sustain that feeling indefinitely.

It’s also similar to what American churches say about the mind of God. You can't just earn that kind of feeling.

In India, they try to reach that state through all sorts of different methods and techniques. But if you aren't careful, those same practices can actually drive someone straight to a psych ward.

That's why nobody over there would ever dream of attempting those techniques without a guru by their side.

Wait, how did we jump from this to "techniques that make you lose your mind"? 😕

The bottom line is: you don't do any of that stuff without guidance.

Entering a trance state during meditation? in Spirituality ·
Joseph Ortiz26 said:It’s basically like being in a half-dream state where your mind is only partially focused on what you’re actually looking at, while the rest of you is just drifting in this hazy fog. You even get that feeling where your eyes start rolling back a bit. 😁
It’s way too easy to slip into, honestly. It feels just like falling asleep—it tricks you into thinking you’re deeply focused when, in reality, you’re just drifting off in a trance.

Look, if you ask me, being "hazy" isn't necessarily a bad thing; people usually aim for clarity and conscious awareness.

To me, this sounds like a hypnotic trance, which means there's a link to the subconscious. From a mental health standpoint, tapping into those old memories and imagery can actually be pretty useful.

Of course, looking at it from a distance... 😁

And let's be real, you can definitely pass out during meditation, even if you're sitting bolt upright.
Entering a trance state during meditation? in Spirituality ·
Joseph Ortiz26 said:So, how do you actually deal with slipping into a trance during meditation?

What kind of trance are we even talking about here?

I mean, I'm with you—whoever taught you these techniques really should have walked you through all this stuff. They basically need to know exactly what you're experiencing at every single second and be right there by your side—or inside you, or just hovering everywhere 24/7 😁
Changes in proportions during meditation in Spirituality ·
afriend said:In case anyone's wondering... I've actually felt that weird shift in body proportions, though more like everything stretching out. It's like my arms, when resting on my knees, suddenly feel way further down than they should be. As for meditation, I just use my own little method where I sit there and focus entirely on myself. Pretty handy if you can actually pull it off.
