Philosophical Question #6: How should we think? in Philosophy ·
At the risk of sounding like some cheesy self-help manual🙂, here it is:

First off, I guess you’ve gotta learn how to stop thinking in such a straight line. You should just let all the good stuff flow into your life without overanalyzing everything to death.
A "real person" isn't afraid to get their hands dirty, because they know that if you want something that actually belongs to you, you've gotta put in the work and make some sacrifices.
A "real person" doesn't discriminate, insult, or look down on anyone. They accept themselves for who they are, so they don't feel the need to project all their weird little complexes onto everyone else. Someone like that actually finds joy in listening to what others have to say—it’s not just about being heard, it’s about actually trying to understand people. They aren't weighed down by societal norms, or suffocating under the pressure of endless PTA meetings, grocery runs, or unpaid bills, yet they still try to keep that spark alive.
A "real person" allows themselves to soak up nature, music, great food, books, philosophy, friendship, and love, even while knowing there’s probably a million things on the to-do list waiting for them tomorrow.

Man, I am so far from being that ideal...🤣
I'm with you there. Those two clashed the most in the studio, but honestly, those arguments usually ended up producing their absolute best tracks.
For me, this band is just... something else entirely. It’s more than just music. I grew up listening to them, and yet I still find myself circling back to them constantly. There's just something about them that other bands lack—at least in my book—and they really don't have any competition.
When I listen to Queen songs, I don't know about you guys, but I can practically feel the intelligence bleeding out of the tracks. Everything from the subtlest notes to the core lyrics.
It’s probably not even surprising, since they're likely the only massive band where everyone actually finished college. 👍[/QUOTE

It isn't just the intelligence factor, though; they also have a damn good sense of humor. Just look at "Fat Bottomed Girls"🤣
I mean, personally, I feel like that track was basically the final gift May gave to Freddie Mercury.

I didn't know—well, actually, I already knew. 😘 May was going through some seriously heavy stuff when he was writing that song (his dad passed away, his marriage was falling apart, and even the future of the career with Queen was looking super shaky), and he’s said himself that The Show Must Go On was just his way of reacting to all the crap hitting him at the time. And somehow, buried in all that, there's this tribute to his longtime friend and teammate Freddie Mercury. Kind of beautiful, isn't it?

I don't totally agree with you there. I mean, Paul Rodgers is an incredible singer, and him joining the band doesn't necessarily mean they're gonna suck—it just means they’ll definitely sound different. I get it, Freddie was one of a kind, and honestly, his whole eccentric vibe made him special, but I guess judging the group as being doomed just because he's gone is a bit silly. Especially since there were still three other absolute legends in the band with him. Plus, if I'm being real, I've always been more into the stuff Brian May wrote, and even Taylor-esque tracks like Innuendo. And yeah, you read that right—Taylor-esque. A lot of people assume that because of the subject matter, only Freddie could have written a song like that, but I don't know, maybe not.

What you're saying is true, I guess, there's definitely something to that. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have put that much effort into the album, especially the title track, if they didn't know it was their last one—well, second to last... personally, it's my favorite album, even though most people say it gets on their nerves because it's too theatrical... I don't agree at all. 🙂

Give me a break. Don't come talking trash about legendary bands until you've actually grown up.

I’m honestly torn on their absolute best track, like, it's a toss-up between Bohemian Rhapsody, Innuendo, Fat Bottomed Girls, or Tie your mother down. I basically grew up on this stuff and I guess it turned me into a bit of a nutcase, but whatever... Queen is just incredible. 😘
