Hello there. I recently had to visit the hospital for an IV due to some diarrhea, and while I was there, they ran a urinalysis. I’ve been struggling with chronic bladder infections that just won't clear up, and I actually finished my last dose of antibiotic nine days ago. Here are my sediment results: leukocytes 3-5
squamous epithelial cells 15-20
transitional epithelial cells 2-3
mucus present
bacteria present
amorphous crystals present

Could someone help me interpret these findings? Since I just finished a course of antibiotics, I assumed the inflammation wouldn't show up in the sediment or the urine culture if tested only a few days later. If this report indicates an active infection, is it still worth doing a urine culture now since bacteria are visible here? Or should I wait at least two weeks after finishing my medication to ensure the culture is accurate?

I picked up some Advil Liqui-Gels. They are specifically designed for painful menstrual cramps, and they really work for me. 🙂

Alright, I will keep taking the pills and then head to my doctor's office on Monday to see what she thinks—it'll be a nice little birthday visit! 😁 I haven't had any side effects other than that one issue. It definitely isn't wise to just stop on my own. Thanks again. 😉

mellowlynx, thanks for the advice 🙂 but I'm not sure if I should continue with the antibiotics since everything just passes right through me. :S Is it possible the medication isn't working quite as intended?

I don't think I'll head to the ER. I'm planning to stop taking the Cephalin, and hopefully my doctor will prescribe a different antibiotic instead.

I've been eating some yogurt, but I'm feeling quite nauseous and have actually vomited. My doctor has already finished for the day, so I'm unsure whether I should push through with the antibiotics or stop, though I really ought to continue since I'm dealing with a bladder infection. 😢

Hi everyone, my period started today and the cramps are absolutely unbearable. 😢 Does anyone know of any tablets that provide fast pain relief? I’ve already tried everything—heating pads and warm baths haven't helped at all. I think I saw someone mention effervescent tablets earlier... Hi there. I wanted to ask... I have thick white discharge, but there’s no itching. Could this be a sign of Candida, or something else? I actually already saw my gynecologist, and she prescribed three doses of Canesten, but it didn't help at all. Help!
