Is it harmful to... in Health ·
Radiation isn't really the main concern here, but the heat? That’s where you run into trouble. It’s basic biology: keeping things cool is vital for testicular health. Excessive heat can tank your fertility and potentially create an environment where certain diseases can actually take hold. Honestly, just keep it away from there...

An IT professional wouldn't be asking a forum how to handle a situation like this. A virtual keyboard isn't going to help you at all. First, check with the people living in your house. A brother? A sister? If you don't have any siblings, then just wipe Windows because there might be some keylogger embedded in a game, then reinstall everything. If even that doesn't work, change every single password and email login—though you said you already did that. What was the point of doing it on that same computer if a keylogger was active?

I honestly have no idea where you people are seeing that I am looking for help or that I failed to solve the issue. I truly don't see it, gentlemen. I resolved the problem using the most professional methods possible, and I know exactly what I did. I know I didn't have a keylogger. I understand the mechanics of how keyloggers function because I used to write them myself back in the day. I also know exactly what a virtual keyboard is for. It wasn't my family; I am the only one with access to my computer. I have the highest level of security available, and I know that nobody could have gotten my password through any fault of mine—it happened due to network vulnerabilities, the forum, or Yahoo. And don't try to make a fool out of me. I simply stated the problem I encountered and how I dealt with it. Please, either read the text more carefully or go buy some reading glasses if you're blind, rather than pulling two sentences out of context and forcing a logical connection between them regardless of the rest of the text. Understood? Nice. Goodbye.

What kind of profession is that even supposed to be?

Who the hell do you think you are, making comments like that?
stormyheron4 said:He just started a new thread claiming he’s an asthmatic. Honestly, how does going without sleep even work with asthma? I mean, staying awake for four days straight would absolutely wreck anyone, let alone someone dealing with respiratory issues and poor physical health.

God damn it! 😁

Unless, of course, he's just some troll looking for attention...
These so-called energy drinks? They do more harm than good. Honestly, sleep deprivation can absolutely wreck you. Your brain needs downtime—even if it's just fifteen minutes a day. I don't get why people bother with all those stimulants. I remember reading about this experiment once. They had two dogs; one was denied food and water, while the other was simply denied sleep. Which one do you think died first? It was the one they kept awake.

That said, there are people living with actual sleep disorders. For them, sleep isn't happening at all, yet it doesn't seem to destroy them. Look, if your brain isn't demanding rest and you aren't feeling completely drained, then you shouldn't be forcing yourself to sleep. We still haven't fully cracked the code on why humans actually need sleep. There was this one Ukrainian man who didn't close his eyes for twenty years. It wasn't by choice, obviously—he just couldn't. His brain never signaled the need for it. Because of that, he has an entire library at home... 😂

I don’t know the specifics of what was going on with that individual or the inspiration behind his topic over at the FBI, but I decided to weigh in because I dealt with something remarkably similar about a month ago. Someone managed to hijack my account under circumstances I still can't quite wrap my head around. They changed my settings and started posting absolute nonsense across the forum, all under my name. My first thought? "Great, I must have used a compromised computer with a keylogger and someone caught me slipping." I immediately swapped out my password, reverted my settings, and added a disclaimer to my signature letting everyone know those posts weren't mine. Being an IT professional, I did everything by the book to ensure my credentials wouldn't fall into the wrong hands—I only ever logged in from my own laptop and even used a virtual keyboard to be safe. Yet, two days later, it happened again. So, I went a step further and changed both my password and my email address (switching from Yahoo to Gmail). I reached out to the site admins, but they wouldn't disclose the IP address of the unauthorized login. I get their stance, honestly, but I just wanted to run a traceroute to see if this person was actually local to me. Anyway, it hasn't happened since. As for how it happened, I'm still in the dark. It was either a direct breach of the forum's SQL database or, more likely, someone managed to break into the email account I used for registration...

I'm sharing this just to point out that these things really do happen. I want the admins to stay vigilant with those IP logs, and I want everyone else to be a bit more cautious. If anyone else here has dealt with something similar, feel free to speak up. Best regards!

Casey Patel28 said:Oh my gosh, thank you so much for everything 😘I’ve actually calmed down a bit after reading your posts! I was honestly spiraling yesterday... thinking, "Here we go—you don't have any symptoms, then suddenly it's stomach cancer and you're gone," because everywhere you look online, they say you can't feel anything wrong with your stomach until it's too late 🙂 haha, what can you do... yesterday when I told my family I was hurting, the first thing they said was, "Don't go looking things up on WebMD, you'll just convince yourself you have a hundred different diseases." That's always how it goes with me, and then I end up completely worked up... even though I clearly haven't learned anything from past mistakes 🙂)
thanks again... I'm really hoping this Pepcid helps... if not, I'm heading straight to the ER tomorrow 😢

No worries at all... I'm glad my posts helped settle your mind... hopefully everything turns out fine. Take care.

Casey Patel28 said:So I just tried that... and look, I’ll admit I’m a total hypochondriac. As soon as the pain started hitting me yesterday, I immediately went down a rabbit hole online trying to figure out what was going on. Before I knew it, my search results were throwing all these stomach cancer diagnoses at me. Honestly, I nearly had a heart attack. 😲

Give me a break... stop reading that nonsense. Cancer? Really? It's common knowledge that people scare themselves half to death the second they start browsing random sites or picking up those sensationalist health magazines you see at the drugstore. The only real solution is to actually talk to your primary care physician. If they're a decent doctor, they aren't going to go around terrorizing you like that. You don't necessarily have to be a hypochondriac; being proactive about your health is actually something to be commended. Just relax. This should clear up by tomorrow at the latest. Moving forward, just avoid whatever triggered this and try to keep your diet on track. Your nutrition dictates your health and your overall quality of life, plain and simple.

Look, listen... this isn't the first time this has happened, but the symptoms are definitely hitting harder now. I’m telling you, you need to watch your portions—don't even think about overeating right now 😁. Onions are most likely the main culprit here. You should probably steer clear of coffee, chocolate, and stuff like that for a bit. Try chewing some gum; it helps trigger saliva production, which helps neutralize that stomach acid. And don't be afraid of taking those antacids; they aren't going to hurt you, they're specifically designed for your stomach. As for that college diet you mentioned... trust me, I've been there, I know how it goes, but skipping meals all day? That’s a disaster, and it's exactly what you're paying for right now

Casey Patel28 said:Don't go scaring me like that... everyone already treats me like I'm just a hypochondriac anyway. Could this actually be something dangerous? 😢

You’re way too young for this to be anything serious. 😁

If you're dealing with this kind of pain on a regular basis, we might be looking at a chronic condition. It might not be life-threatening in a clinical sense, but it's something that should be managed with medication. There's really no reason to just sit there and suffer through it...
Upper abdominal pain/indigestion help? in Health ·
Pepto-Bismol isn't going to do much for heartburn, honestly. I’d suggest starting with something like Tums first; since they're antacids, they should actually neutralize the reflux if that's what you're dealing with. You really only want to move to the Pepto once the antacids fail to cut it. That sounds like a nasty bout of indigestion you've got there... I wouldn't mind taking a closer look at what's going on with your stomach myself.
Upper abdominal pain/indigestion help? in Health ·
An irregular diet—especially when you throw smoking and coffee into the mix—can trigger heartburn, that nasty burning sensation right behind your breastbone, somewhere between your stomach and your throat. If this is happening to you constantly, it might be more than just a bad meal; it could point toward an upper GI issue like GERD. In that case, you really need to go see a doctor. For acute heartburn, which I'm assuming is what you're dealing with right now, your first line of defense should be antacids, like Tums. You also need to start eating smaller, more frequent meals at regular intervals, and for heaven's sake, don't just lie down immediately after eating. If the pain hasn't subsided by tomorrow or if things take a turn for the worse, get yourself to the ER.
Pills to stop dreaming? in Health ·
I honestly think someone is selling you a load of nonsense here... don't just fall for every random thing you stumble upon online. If a medical doctor tells you something doesn't exist, then take their word for it. Stop chasing ghosts. People spend their whole lives dreaming, but the real issue is whether they can actually recall it once they wake up—unless, of course, you've knocked yourself out with some heavy sedative and claim you were sleeping soundly when you really weren't. God, I'm rambling now. Look, just don't try to self-diagnose this. And let's be clear: you haven't been seeing a psychiatrist; you've been seeing a psychologist, and they aren't authorized to prescribe medication.
Pills to stop dreaming? in Health ·
I’m with you on this. The absolute worst thing you can do is shove a problem down into your subconscious and hope it stays there. To be honest, I’ve always been pretty skeptical about those kinds of pills. I don't even know what the active ingredients are most of the time, or what the actual long-term effects might be, but any time you're messing with your central nervous system, you need to proceed with extreme caution and stay under strict medical supervision. My advice? Talk to a therapist, a chaplain, or just someone close to you that you actually trust first. Only if that doesn't move the needle should you reach out to a psychiatrist to consult about medication. And please, don't think for a second that me suggesting a psychiatrist means I think you're crazy... it's simply because they are the most qualified person to handle that specific type of chemistry.
Scar spreading: what should I do? in Health ·
What’s your take on why the scar started spreading like that? Is the wound even actually healing?
Kyle Long6 said:Like I mentioned in the title, I’m hitting a serious wall when it comes to studying. I’m currently in my junior year of college, and I’ve never dealt with anything like this before. I honestly don't know how to tackle it.
The issue is that whenever I sit down to focus, I can only last maybe 10 or 15 minutes before I feel this desperate need to get up, turn on the TV, hop on the computer... then I try to study again for another 15 minutes, and it just keeps looping. It’s a total waste of time.
I don't think it's a lack of motivation. I have a MASSIVE, massive drive to pass this exam because it's the only thing standing between me and my senior year.

Any advice would be appreciated..

Thanks.

Hahahaha.

Honestly, I've been this way since I started school... there is zero chance I'm sitting still for more than 10 minutes to actually learn something... none at all. Still, I managed to pull through quite successfully in high school and even here at the university... I guess I just go all-in during those 10-15 minute bursts and get lucky with my memory. Who knows. Anyway, my advice? Get away from all the tech. Go find a library where there aren't any computers or TVs, somewhere where nothing can pull your attention away from the book. I tried that once and it worked wonders for me. 😁 Good luck.
In the middle? There isn't even any muscle there... 😁
White spots on tonsils in Health ·
steelseal12 said:Is there any kind of gargle or mouthwash that actually works?

The thing is, this crap is forming deep inside my tonsils, so you can't even see it from the outside...

I don't know if I have anything left to lose at this point—honestly, it feels like I've hit rock bottom—but this situation is driving me absolutely insane.

Is there any way to at least reduce how often this happens? It seems to me like there's a connection to when I drink something cold or catch a chill...

If I just have them surgically removed, who knows? Maybe it'll just migrate somewhere else, like my heart or my veins...

Actually, it's quite the opposite... if you don't get them handled, you're looking at potential heart valve infections, rheumatic fever, kidney failure, and things like that. I'm not trying to scare you, but those are some serious complications that can crop up if a bacterial infection goes untreated. My advice? Go see an ENT specialist and discuss getting them out. Besides, why haven't you seen your primary care doctor yet? If this is a bacterial infection, you'd need antibiotics...

For rinsing, try using Hexoral or Betadine, but be careful with it (read the side effects, dosage, and contraindications thoroughly) and don't use it for an extended period...
