Gold: Past, Present, and Future in Other Investment Types ·
If the Federal Reserve starts chipping away at rates—which looks like the plan anyway—gold hits 0% interest environments easily and cruises right past its previous all-time highs. Silver will likely follow suit with a slight delay... looking at the current Au/Ag ratio, silver seems like the much more logical play here.

Besides, gold is already hitting all-time highs against most major currencies...

Mark Sullivan62 said:I’ve been sitting here wondering what on earth has been going on with gold prices over these last three or four months

Back toward the end of October, I picked up an ounce at my local Chase branch for $2630. Now, looking at the market, you can snag one for about $2847, yet they're out there selling them for $2941 now.
I mean, that's basically a sweet 8% profit in just three months if you do the math.
Honestly, part of me wants to double down and buy more, but I'm stuck in this loop of second-guessing myself—what if we've already hit the peak and the whole thing just craters? Everyone seems absolutely terrified of another massive economic meltdown, so it feels like it’s a given that gold prices will keep climbing, but then again, who actually knows what the future holds?

Does anyone have any actual, intelligent insights to share regarding all this?
😁

Well, here goes nothing... looks like you missed the whole play.😁

Does that mean I won't see a single cent of profit unless gold prices jump by at least 20%? That sounds completely absurd to me, so I must be missing something obvious here. Can someone please enlighten me?

did you check the pricing on the larger bars?

Just finished watching the replay and went through every single controversial call—did the math myself. It’s pretty obvious that every single decision that didn't go our way was made by one specific official, while the other guy actually called a top-tier game. If you ask me? It looks like a blatant robbery by the Nordic EHF leadership and some Spaniard.

Unfortunately, the NBA is turning into such a massive money-maker—and honestly, that’s the real reason we didn't take home the gold today. I saw it coming from the jump when the ref suggested the player wasn't faking it... every single controversial play we protested, he called in their favor. He was surgical about it, too. I mean, you can't call every single garbage play like that, especially when the game is decided by a mere two or three points. If anyone thinks this was fair, they clearly don't know a thing about basketball. Then there was that foul by Čupić, followed by that two-minute suspension—you just don't pull that in a championship game, especially at the end. You try to de-escalate first, maybe give a warning, but instead, he just flashes the two fingers and hands out the red card? Who wouldn't lose it when it's a two-point game, then a ball hits both the hand and the thigh, and instead of getting us a fast break, we get a red card and a technical? To top it off, the official is swearing in American, while that biased hack keeps chiming in using Tamil alongside it... it's a total robbery, yet people still debate whether it was rigged or not. And when it's a clear penalty on a push right at the end, nothing happens. Or that two-minute penalty on the shooter who wasn't even close to the guy who went down—meaning the ref didn't see a damn thing, but since he's Danish, he decides to bench our guy right when the score shifts at the end of the half. Just a perfectly executed heist in gloves. Regardless, hats off to our guys. If they had pulled this off, it would have been a genuine miracle. If those few shots were in when we were down by two, we'd be celebrating right now, despite the idiots ruining this beautiful sport.
