People call horses these noble creatures, but let’s be real. For thousands of years, we’ve just worked them to death—riding them constantly, pulling plows and heavy wagons, and sending them off to die in wars for their owners. Meanwhile, cows just coasted along. Sure, horses are plenty loyal and smart compared to cattle, but still.
As for me, beef doesn't really do anything for me. I'd eat it if I had to, but nothing special. Chicken, pork, or seafood? That'll work just fine.

Nah, it’s actually further up the street, past the building. We used to hang out by the pier after school 😁 and that stretch near the park wasn't even paved yet 🙂. Now there's a massive high-rise down there and you can't even see the ocean from the school anymore. 😢

Because for anyone living in Crossings, that area is just the patch right above the high school and east of the church. Real Reed City is everything else—like, between the VA hospital and the industrial district, down below the outskirts 😬. Even the school is called Reed City Elementary—so much for being "official." I bet some mapmaker messed up decades ago and everyone’s just been copying his mistake ever since.
I know nobody asked for my two cents, but—the supporters in the stands aren't quite as hardcore as the ones in the hills, though they definitely have a massive advantage being right next to the stadium.
Of course, that ridiculous "hey, hey, band from the suburbs" chant is still the best (they clearly couldn't think of anything that actually rhymes with "suburbs").😢
So, I’m standing there with a bottle in my hand, just waiting for this guy to clear out so I can smash it over his head—aiming for the legs, obviously—and charge at him to take him down. Then, right as a crowd of about 30 people starts swarming him and the rest of those metalheads, I realize I actually recognize him. I start yelling, "Is that you, Peter?" and the guy looks up, totally beat up and disheveled, asking me what's going on. I'm screaming at him, trying to hold everyone back from tearing him apart, and he finally confirms it's him. I immediately shut the whole thing down. I told everyone to leave him alone. It’s ironic because he wasn't even into metal at first, and besides, he's one of my best friends and someone I truly respect. He’s just passing through here, but man, that long hair really defines him.

So this Sunday they call us out to fight again and we’re like, hell yeah! God, we were so stupid back then!!! About 30 of us gathered up and headed across the bridge!!! A bigger group from their side showed up too, so we went right after them!!!! We lured them all the way across the bridge before things turned into a total stick fight, and then boom—the cops showed up!!! We were ready to go all the way, but those guys with the stun guns killed one of ours!!! The guy hasn't even made it to the fight yet!!! Poor Martino, I feel terrible for him, he's only 12 years old!!!! I can see them beating him now, I'm ready to swing, so me and Tukic head over—he grabs Martino, while I see the cops heading my way!!! I'm not running, I'm staying put because I see Matas getting caught in a massive brawl and the cops are coming for him hard!!! I'm staying to make sure Matas is still alive, damn it!!! And you know the drill, the stats and everything!!! Matas somehow manages to scramble away, though he took some hits to the kidneys and legs, bled a little and stuff.... Then they grabbed Zvier and Marija for questioning, and that was that!!!

Yeah, it’s "official," but that specific section has its own name too. I can't for the life of me remember it right now 🤣 my brain is totally fried.
