So how do I break one single post down into multiple parts?

For example, I've had people quote me in pieces where they tuck their own comment right under every single snippet I wrote—even when it explicitly says the reply is from them—and of course, I end up looking like the one being flagged because they're quoting me. Now, I want to be able to do the exact same thing. I don't want it to be just one big blockquote; I want every little part I'm replying to to show exactly who said it, regardless of whether it's one person or five different people!

Ugh, I hope you know what I mean. 🙂

Take a look at what I wrote above—the forum glitched and threw my post right over yours...

. You get where I'm coming from? If I leave that last bracket in there, it shows up as being from you, but then I end up stuck inside the blue section 🙂

Thanks for the help 🙂

And that's that.

Where exactly am I missing the mark? If you could provide some more detailed guidance, I’d appreciate it.

And why exactly is that the case?

My process is a bit more convoluted than most—I tend to quote the entire block, strip away the parts that don't serve my point, provide my response, and then repeat the cycle by pasting the full quote again only to prune it once more.
It’s stalling, and we’re nearly at the finish line...

Here is how I’m approaching this (I’ll provide as much detail as possible), From the very beginning....):
To quote a post, you simply hit the Quote button to trigger the quoted block; then, highlight the specific section of text you intend to address and click the icon—that little speech bubble symbol—to finalize your comment. Wrap Quote the designated portion of the text should be enclosed within quote tags at both the beginning and the end Wrap QuoteI will append my commentary following that Wrap Quote at the end; I’ll highlight the second section once more; add the icon again; and then follow up with another comment right after the quote.

It seems my formatting has gone completely sideways; everything—from my own commentary down to those smaller nested quotes—is getting swallowed up by one massive, oversized quote block at the end of the post. It makes sense, I suppose, given that my own remarks are nested within the primary quote block... wouldn't you agree?
I feel as though I am missing a crucial step in my process, or perhaps there is a fundamental flaw in my approach that remains stubbornly out of reach, yet despite my efforts, the error eludes everyone's perception.🤷
Everyone keeps telling me the same thing: highlight the text, hit the icon, leave a comment. So, I follow the instructions to the letter, but when you look at the actual results... well, the outcome speaks for itself.
Something isn't quite clicking, so I would appreciate it if someone with a bit of patience could take a look at my task list and help me pinpoint exactly where my logic is faltering.🙂

Hey, I just checked with my mom, and it turns out $867 he’s actually receiving is Grandpa’s pension. Grandpa isn't around anymore, but apparently, his nephew is eligible because of his medical condition.

Maybe I’m just naturally more of a pessimist—it’s honestly tough for me to try and convince myself that everything’s gonna be okay. I feel pretty terrible lately... there isn't a single day where I don't spiral thinking about whether I'll have a relapse, or if I go out for a walk, if I'll actually make it back home alive.
I can't help but wonder, how am I supposed to expect my current guy to stay by my side and raise kids with me when this constant anxiety is always going to be part of who I am? It feels like I'd just be the one thing breaking his perfect life... 🙂

You really only have two paths here: either he stays in a mental health facility—where you both can visit one another and maintain that connection—or he moves in with you and your husband. I realize it won't always be easy, obviously, but isn't that the whole point of marriage? "In sickness and in health" and all that—it’s practically baked into the vows. If he’s a genuinely good man who truly loves you, I suppose it shouldn't feel like such an overwhelming sacrifice.

As far as benefits go, I suppose he should be eligible for some kind of financial assistance. I have an uncle who deals with schizoid disorder, and he receives a certain amount through... $867.

Dear Grandpa, I really hope you aren’t feeling lonely out there in some far-off land—I truly hope you're surrounded by plenty of love. I find myself wishing you were actually here just so I could hear you say something wise, or maybe we could just sit and talk for a while. I also have this image of you having a lovely white beard; though, if you don't, it doesn't really matter—I'm sure you're still pretty cool regardless.

- Charts in Microsoft Excel

Hey, thanks for the page, but I actually managed to sort out the issue already. I’m definitely no expert when it comes to Microsoft Excel—I guess I could probably figure some things out by poking around the site—but I just didn't have the time to mess around with it right now.😁
ruggedcyclist7 said:The graph won't start from zero unless you actually set those values to zero—so in your case, you really need to have the x-axis start at 0 (like 0, 2, 4, 6, 8).

If you want it to look like it’s coming directly from the origin, then your first y-value has to be 0 as well (0, 4, 6, 10, 13).

Well, thanks, it's working now. 😁 I actually tried doing it your way yesterday, but for some reason, it just wouldn't cooperate. 🤷 It's entirely possible I mistakenly selected a standard "line" chart instead of an x-y scatter plot, which probably explains why it failed—standard line charts usually require a bunch of extra tweaking. With all the different settings available, who knows what I missed.

So, I went back to that "line" option, and even after entering the zeros, it still wasn't hitting the origin quite right. However, I did figure out that you have to check the "On tick marks" box in the position axis settings.
So, just in case it wasn't crystal clear—I am simply looking for a basic line graph to track some values. I used to handle this in Microsoft Word by heading over to the insert charts menu, selecting the X Y scatter option, and then manually plugging in the data. For instance, if I set x as 2, 4, 6, 8 and y as 4, 6, 10, 13, I get my curve. My only real issue is that I need the line to actually start at zero—you know, from the origin point on the chart. Does anyone have a fix for that?
William Miller83 said:What exactly are you trying to accomplish here?

Microsoft PowerPoint handles charts reasonably well enough.
As for Microsoft Word, I haven't really messed with it much myself—so I can't say for sure.
Then again, you could always just manually plot it in some kind of graphic design software.

If this is for a website, there’s Google Charts.
https://developers.google.com/chart/
Though, you'd probably need someone who actually knows their way around JavaScript to set that up for you.

There are also plenty of online chart generators out there that do a decent job.
http://www.onlinecharttool.com/

It's for my thesis. And yeah, I suppose you could use Microsoft PowerPoint. But the issue is that whenever I input the values, the curve starts right at that specific data point—it won't start from zero, or rather, the origin. Which is how it's supposed to look. 😢
Does anyone happen to know how to force the graph curves to actually start from the origin?
I was trying to put together a chart in Microsoft Word—just a simple one, really—but no matter how much I tweak the x and y values, the curve refuses to touch the zero point. I honestly can't figure out where the catch is...

If anyone could point me in the right direction, I’d appreciate it. It’s kind of urgent. Help!
