My hands swell up in the cold in Health ·
I don't smoke—and honestly, I can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke either🙂

melloworca6 said:It’s totally standard to get some swelling after a while because the cold constricts your blood vessels and cuts off oxygen.

But what I'm dealing with isn't normal. My hands turn a deathly shade of blue after just 10 or 15 minutes out in the cold.

So, there's your "solution" to my problem: wear gloves. 🙂 As if that would actually work for me. Even if I layered up in three sets of gloves, my hands would still turn blue.

It sounds like you might have Raynald's syndrome...

Except my hands don't turn white first...

I don't know... honestly, it's probably best if I snap a photo next time I'm outside and send it to you via DM so you can judge for yourself. 😁

It’s not like the issue is actually bothering me much, but I’d really love to know the cause, if nothing else...

Heh, thanks for all the input, everyone! 🙂
It’s not like my place floods every single time—it usually only happens when things get really freezing out there...

The real issue is that I just can't stand wearing gloves. I always get this feeling that they actually make me feel even colder. 😁

I’ve really noticed this happening all winter—my hands turn bright red or even start looking blue quite easily

For instance, today wasn't even that freezing, but when I finally walked through my front door, my wrists were looking pretty blue while my palms and fingers were flushed deep red..
I wasn't even wearing gloves, so I'm honestly stumped—is this something serious I should be worried about?

Just one thing to note: after about 15 minutes, the color went right back to normal.

This is exactly what I’m interested in too—honestly, it's the main thing on my mind right now. 👍😍🤣🙂😁

Haha, thanks so much for all the input, everyone! I’m definitely going to give this stretching routine a shot—I'll let you know how it works out for me 🙂

I’m feeling this sort of MILD pressure on the left side of my chest.

As for whether the pain travels in a line—yeah, I think it does. It runs down my left arm, roughly from my shoulder to my elbow. But it’s not constant. I’ve actually noticed it seems to sync up with my stomach issues... when my arm isn't acting up, my stomach is. 😢

I’m positive something isn't right with my body—even though my doctors keep telling me everything looks fine—so I really need some advice from you guys to help me figure out what might be going on.

The pain doesn't just happen while I'm working, either. That pressure on my ribcage is almost constant—it's just that when I get busy with other things, I tend to lose track of it. Every now and then, though, that pain in my left arm and stomach flares up again.

- thanks for all the replies!

P.S.

I'm not sure if this matters, but I've noticed that cold things really seem to help. For instance, splashing cold water on my left arm makes it feel better—almost like there's some kind of inflammation happening there...

First off, thanks so much for getting back to me!

I just have one question—can spinal issues actually cause pain in the chest area, specifically on the left side?
Pain in my left arm, chest, and stomach in Health ·
So, for about three months now, I've been dealing with this pain in my left arm, the left side of my chest, and my upper abdomen—I'm assuming it's my stomach area.

It all kicked off three months ago while I was doing some heavy lifting at work. I felt this intense chest pain and my heart started racing so fast—honestly, I thought it was going to jump right out of my chest. It only lasted a few seconds, but after that, I cooled off and just stopped doing whatever activity I was working on. 🙄

Since then, I've had these nagging, mild pains in my left arm—sometimes it's the inner side, sometimes it's somewhere between the biceps and triceps... let me try to be more specific—it's kind of on the underside of my left arm.

The pain isn't actually severe, and the spots usually shift around; like, when my stomach hurts, my arm feels fine, and vice versa. That discomfort in my chest almost never goes away, though—it usually only fades when I'm distracted by other things. The pain on the left side of my chest isn't sharp at all; if I had to describe it, it's more like a constant sense of unease.

Usually, things seem to get worse whenever I start doing any strenuous physical activity.

So far, I've had two EKGs done by two different doctors, and both of them told me everything looks perfectly fine.😕

They gave me some kind of anti-inflammatory cream and maybe two other types of pills—I can't remember the names. They help for a couple of days while I'm using them, but they don't really solve the underlying issue.

For the last month, I haven't even used the pills or the cream. Like I said before, the pain isn't intense enough to justify taking meds—it's more of a lingering discomfort.

A few times now, I've also felt my heart racing and pounding.

Lately, though, I haven't been feeling that anymore.

In fact, I've actually been feeling better recently...

But honestly, I'm at a loss for what to do next. If I go back to the doctor, they'll probably just tell me everything is fine and hand me some useless pain relievers. 😕

I'd really appreciate any advice or thoughts you guys might have. Thanks. 🙂
