A dermatologist, obviously... since this is basically just a laser fix. There's really no need for surgery when it’s strictly skin-deep. But here’s the thing—since I’ve had this hemangioma since birth and we're talking twenty years down the line now, I feel like nobody would even bother touching it unless it was actually causing issues. And it isn't. So, my real question is: has anyone here actually gone through with removing one later in life when it covers a larger area?

Has anyone here actually dealt with getting a large, superficial hemangioma removed? I was told it really should have been taken care of back when I was a "younger age"—like, infant stage—probably just because of how much surface area it covers, making it way easier to treat then. But now? If it isn’t causing any actual issues and we're just talking about purely aesthetic stuff... maybe it's better to just leave it alone. -.-

From what I know, our registry is mainly for recipients right here in America, but if someone's home country doesn't have a compatible match, they can register in another country... and the same goes for us looking abroad. At least, that was how it worked a few years back... I'm not sure if anything has changed recently, though...

Oh, and regarding what you mentioned about donating—first, you provide a blood sample for Typing and they put you on the registry. Later on, if you happen to be a match for a recipient, you go through more tests, and then they ask you again if you're actually willing to go through with the bone marrow donation—since most people change their minds once it becomes "real." Though, honestly, the odds of actually getting the call are pretty slim... what I meant was, you aren't committing to the actual procedure right when you give the initial sample. 😁

Supposedly, it’s true—and honestly, why go looking for trouble just to prove a point? Better safe than sorry, right? Usually, during the sales pitches, they'll tell you straight up that you shouldn't use it to treat actual tumors. The logic is that since it affects healthy cells the same way it hits the bad ones, you might accidentally cause a tumor to grow faster or spread.

I've actually had mine for years now, though I'm pretty lazy about actually using it... but when I do, it's great for stuff like acne, little scars, scratches, or easing skin irritation. It also helps with headaches and sinus issues... that’s about the extent of my toolkit, anyway.
