So, I accidentally ordered an Evans bra in a 42F instead of my usual 44F. It’s basically our 95 F size. It's a nude shade. I swear by their stuff—they offer amazing support without breaking the bank. They even have those little silicone strips along the edges to keep everything from sliding around, so you can wear them strapless if you pop the straps off. If anyone's interested... just shoot me a message about the price. I'm honestly just looking to get it out of my hands!
@cipelić - that's exactly why we do group orders 🙂 I was actually asking here last week who else was hitting up New Look 🙂 Just give me a shout whenever you're feeling it and we can easily work out the details 🙂
@dustycyclist72 - Well, lucky you! 😁 I guess it really depends on the cut, honestly. This dress definitely wouldn't be a size 22 at ASOS. 😁
^^ @ Jonathan Perez88 - People say Mango's sizing is all over the place—like, totally inconsistent, even if you're ordering your usual size. It feels like a bit of a gamble. I might just hunt for a different dress in this size, maybe for you too. Sadly, their plus-size line is online-only... So, I think I'll stick to New Look, ASOS, or Evans. I've never had a bad run with them.
^^ I just placed an order for a dress from the Mango Outlet, and I'm honestly so stoked to see how it fits. Can't wait for it to land on my doorstep! 🙂
brisklynx13 said:KIK is a total joke. They pulled the stock in NYC a few months back too.😠 I was absolutely livid because I bought several amazing jackets and shirts... for practically nothing... I mean, seriously ridiculous prices. Even the cashier told me she had no clue why, since sales were booming... Idiots!!
What you bought there is lovely, especially that black dress... just adorable. What size are you? I think Evans has some great pieces, but it isn't exactly cheap and the shipping costs are a killer... so I haven't pulled the trigger yet... I wear a US 20-22 🙂 though I am currently shedding some pounds.🎉 My biggest struggle is pants... I wear a 22-24 and finding a decent fit is nearly impossible... it's a nightmare. If anyone knows a good spot... besides C&A... please let me know... just looking for classic black dress slacks or maybe some casual sporty ones, just nothing in denim... I don't really do denim.
Omg, sorry for the late reply! I'm usually a 10 or 12, depending on the brand. If it's something stiff like a blazer or a non-stretch dress, I go bigger, but if there's any stretch at all, I stick to the smaller size. That dress looks stunning on you, too—I'm so glad you love it. Honestly, ASOS has never steered me wrong. As for Evans, they have some gems, but yeah, they've gotten pricier compared to a few years back. You really have to wait for the clearance sales to get a decent deal.🙂
I'm getting ready to place an order on New Look soon. If you or anyone else wants in, let me know—shipping is free if we spend over $55! Also, I just discovered these bras for like $15 that are absolute lifesavers. I need to stock up right this second so I'm set for a while.😁
Yeah, New Look definitely has some gems. Their shipping fees are just killer, though. If anyone wants to do a group order (free shipping kicks in over $55), hit me up in my DMs—maybe we can team up and save a few bucks! 😁
Ladies, they just cleared out all the plus sizes from the KIK here in my town! 😳 I’m talking specifically about those "plus size" labeled racks. Honestly, I'm pretty bummed because I used to find such cute stuff there, especially during sales, and their Janine sleeveless tops and leggings are actually top-tier quality. I even asked the clerks if they knew why everything vanished, and they were totally clueless—it's not like people weren't buying it; if anything, it was flying off the shelves. They just got an order one day to clear it all out. I'm wondering how things look in NYC—did they pull the stock there too, or is it still available? Just want to know before my next trip. 🙂
EDIT: Oh, looking back through the previous pages, it looks like they started pulling stuff in NYC about six months ago :-/ Around here, it only happened around New Year's...
Do you guys shop at ASOS or Evans? I just ordered my latest haul, it arrived a few days ago, and it is seriously so good. 🙂 I've been shopping there for years; you can always snag something amazing on sale.
Everyone’s body reacts differently, and what works for one person might be a total bust for someone else, but it’s honestly worth checking if you're dealing with a food allergy. My ex used to struggle with Keratosis pilaris on his upper arms; he actually went to see a doctor because it was driving him crazy, only to be told it was just a skin issue and he should try exfoliating. That didn't help him one bit! We did some digging and found tons of stories from people who had no idea they were allergic to certain foods, so they were treating the symptom instead of the cause. Turns out, my guy was allergic to gluten. It took some adjusting to his diet, but the skin cleared right up. So many people have a gluten sensitivity without even realizing it, and this is how it shows up. If your skin is bugging you, it’s totally worth getting tested so you can actually fix the root of the problem!
You can find those winter dresses at the Orsay mall and H&M (that's where I usually grab mine), but they aren't in stock just yet since the new shipments haven't landed. I can't say for sure because I haven't been over in Orsay for about a month, but looking back at the last couple of years, I picked up the H&M B&B line during the January sales. Basically, they'll be there, and you'll definitely find some cute ones. 🙂
It’s actually refreshing to see women who aren't built like fitness models and don't let it get to them, because frankly, they're a rare breed, and there’s zero reason to stress about it.
My weight is pretty evenly distributed, so I might look thinner than my actual scale number suggests, but I hold my own—and I’ve always received compliments rather than being mocked. These kinds of posts from people like above only serve to make insecure girls feel self-conscious for no reason, making them want to hide under oversized tents instead of just dressing well.
Most of my family tends to be a bit more sturdy, so why on earth would I get depressed just because I inherited those genes? I couldn't care less. I hope everyone else feels the same way, because we shouldn't pity the ones who become targets for jokes; we should pity the ones who actually let it get to them.😁
👍 You nailed it, I'm totally with you on everything!
I have seriously never seen this much negativity toward plus-sized people coming from someone who is plus-sized herself! And honestly, your workplace sounds like a total nightmare—dropping to that level of unprofessionalism and openly critiquing how people look at work is just shameful... 👎 It’s like you’re trying so hard to act superior to us, but if you're going to take the high road, you should actually be a bit wiser about it. Like, give some real advice—tell people to enjoy life and wear whatever makes them happy since we only get one shot at this, rather than soaking up insults from people who are clearly just insecure. At the end of the day, only people who aren't happy with themselves lash out like that. They probably hate that a "poor little plus-size girl" can afford to be so free. It seems like some people think being larger means being more insecure, but sometimes those folks are just happier and even crueler. Clearly, you're letting your life be shaped by what some random jerk might say. And then we're the ones left feeling self-conscious in our dresses ☕ I also agree this belongs in a shopping thread. Just scroll back a few pages and see who actually started all this.
Peter Gray2, I don't usually follow this thread, but I had to jump in and give you a shout-out too 👍 You put outfits together so beautifully without it ever looking basic or boring. Love it!
Look, let's be real about security—anyone can share an opinion if they actually know what they're talking about. But these low-blow comments claiming people who shop online hide behind a screen and should just go for a walk instead (wow, excuse me, I prefer hiking in the woods over wandering through a mall...) and looking for excuses are, frankly, STUPID. You made your point, but now you're just being insulting. Besides, you took half of that out of context—nobody said curvy women wear the EXACT same stuff as thin women, just that they can wear EVERYTHING (dresses, leggings, skinny jeans, you name it). Just because you can't pull something off doesn't mean nobody else can. And yeah, I have a car, but driving all the way to downtown Chicago every single time I need something? No thanks. I’d much rather take a weekend trip to the Ozarks, hang out with my family and friends, or just curl up with a good book. Instead of burning cash on gas or bus fare, I can buy something else. Honestly, these excuses are pathetic; like, oh sure, better to drive to the city for a shopping spree! 🙄 I’ll end my argument here: is it better to shop online or in-store? Clearly, you think you're the smartest person alive, which explains why more and more people choose online shopping while you claim they're just lazy cowards 😳
Btw ladies, Victoria's Secret has an extra 20% off right now, everything is basically a steal 😍 Oh, and regarding thigh chafing—it's true, it's more about body shape than weight, though most curvy girls deal with it. I handle it by applying a heavy moisturizer (haven't tried baby oil yet) and then everything just glides perfectly, no rubbing 😍 and no irritation! How do you guys use oil? Doesn't it feel too greasy? Does it leave marks on your clothes? Another fix, like Bradley Jones3 suggested, is wearing some thin, lightweight shorts. Bikers aren't the best choice for summer because you'll totally bake in them 😳
Why don't we talk about dresses on this thread instead? 😍 I’m a US size 14/16 and I live in dresses! They are my absolute favorite summer staple—super comfy, breezy, and just gorgeous. Honestly, I think any girl looks better in a dress than pants, as long as she finds one that actually hugs her curves in the right spots. And let's be real, there are so many styles and lengths out there now, it’s almost overwhelming. I pick stuff up at local shops here, but shopping online is where the real magic happens—better prices and way more variety (I've seen some gems for like $10 or $15 lately!). So why not? 😍 These are my current favorites 😍 http://www.asos.com/Asos/Asos-Curve-...t=-1&clr=Black http://www.asos.com/Asos/Asos-Curve-...rt=-1&clr=Navy http://www.yoursclothing.co.uk/P/Plu...ss-(6881).aspx http://www.yoursclothing.co.uk/P/Bla...re-(7299).aspx
I noticed Jason Moore63 mentioned the Big Beauty blog. That woman is a total icon! She’s such huge inspiration for outfit ideas and, best of all, she proves that curvy women can rock absolutely EVERYTHING if they just find the right fit for their shape. Huge props to Big Beauty 😍
Jason Moore63 said:well, then you just sell it on the forum 😂 I've never been disappointed by anything I've bought online🤷 especially stuff from ASOS... all the shops (except eBay) that Charles Kern28 listed have great reviews and wouldn't dream of selling junk. Plus, the sales are way better than what you'd find in downtown Chicago (like, ASOS has dresses for 5 or 6 bucks, whereas I could never find anything like that in the States)... I actually just ordered a gorgeous little black dress for going out from ASOS for 8 bucks 🤣 plus 6 bucks for shipping... I'll never find something like that in the US for $40
When it comes to eBay, you definitely need to know the ropes to stay safe. For example, I stick to sellers based in the US to avoid those annoying customs fees, and I only deal with folks who have over 99% positive feedback—though I always take a quick peek at their negative reviews first just to be sure. I also exclusively use PayPal because they’ve got your back; if your item doesn't show up within 45 days and you flag it, they'll pop the money right back into your account. If anyone wants the deep dive, check out our "Online Shopping" or "eBay" threads. Honestly, I've done five separate hauls on eBay so far and haven't had a single bad experience. 👍
Nathan Baker said:Personally, I find online clothes shopping to be a far worse, and ultimately probably more expensive, alternative to anyone here having to drive all the way into a major hub like Chicago just to find plus-size options if their hometown lacks them. For starters, you never truly know what’s going to show up at your door or how much those polished photos lie about the actual garment, and even if you follow the measurements to a T, there is still that nagging uncertainty about whether it will actually fit your shape. And even if the sizing works out perfectly, what happens if you put it on and it just looks terrible on you? Then you're stuck with the headache of returns, shipping fees, and endless back-and-forth... I tried it once, and honestly, I'm never doing it again. Just a total waste of money.
Fair enough, that’s just how it went for you. It’s a bummer you gave up after just one try, though! I’ve ordered about ten times now and everything has been spot on (I've done everything from jackets and blazers to tops and swimwear). Sure, there might be a time in the future where I fall in love with something that doesn't quite fit right, but that happens to me even when I'm shopping at the mall... Sometimes I love a piece so much I just ignore the fact that the fit isn't perfect 😬 Plus, you just have to learn the ropes of online shopping. For example, don't order a massive haul all at once so you don't get hit with unexpected customs fees, always double-check size charts, read reviews if they're available, stick to reputable sites, and obviously buy cuts you already know look good on you. If it's something totally new, I usually try to find it in a store first to see how it sits on my body. You also have to keep an eye on certain sites—sometimes you can snag absolute gems for basically pocket change. As for driving all the way to a big city like Chicago to shop, it might make sense if you're already passing through, but for me, it’s definitely not worth it for a few reasons: 1. I don't go on shopping sprees twice a year; I just buy stuff when I need it, and if I can't find it then, I'm not going to drive hours just to hunt it down. That would mean making at least 2-3 trips a season. 2. A round-trip ticket from a place like St. Louis is almost $67, and for some people, it's even pricier, which adds up fast when you factor in multiple trips. 3. It's way easier to order from my couch than to spend the whole day sprinting between malls and boutiques—especially since most shops only carry specific sizes—all while racing against the clock to catch my bus or train back home. 😁 4. Online, I have access to a much better selection of wearable styles, and I don't feel forced into buying something just because it's the only thing available in my size. I want to choose what I wear, not settle. 5. I save both time AND MONEY, because most things I grab online are things I couldn't find for that price anywhere else in the States (even with shipping), assuming I can even find what I'm looking for at all.
All in all, I think online shopping has way more pros than cons! 😍
Ladies, don't let the mediocre selection at your local mall get you down. There are some incredible online shops out there with endless styles and sizes up to 5XL. Sites like eBay, ASOS, Evans, and Yours Clothing have amazing deals when they run sales—everything from your everyday basics to those fancy outfits for a night out 😍

I’m with you. I'm not usually a fan of parodies, but I actually really liked the lead actress. 😍 zero point zero, there are way better spoofs out there..
I'm definitely not the only one here who lives for a good shopping spree! 😍 Since I've filled out a bit more lately, I've been finding some seriously cute stuff—honestly, my wishlist is longer than my bank account can handle! It all comes down to personal style, obviously, but there's plenty to choose from. Plus, let's be real, I'm pretty picky about what actually looks flattering on my curves 😳 😁 Most of my tops come from Target, which always has such a killer selection (like cute camis and shrugs for maybe 50-$53 bucks) Old Navy is another great go-to. They don't have a million different styles, but they have tons of colors to pick from, which is a huge win (dresses run about 130-$67)! Sometimes I'll make a quick trip over to Phoenix to hit up H&M. Their BB line is amazing for curvier girls—super cute shirts and tanks for like 15 bucks Every once in a while, I'll head over to Arizona where you can find basically everything at really fair prices. And if I catch them during a clearance sale? The deals are almost ridiculous (camis for 80-$40, dresses for 100-$53). I usually get my jeans from this local vendor who brings them in from overseas at decent prices. They actually have great options in Arizona too, even for those of us with more curves, but I’m just too lazy to go try them on there (around 100-$53). 😳 The styles are honestly gorgeous! Any girls in the 😍Phoenix area😉 looking for a shopping buddy? Feel free to reach out and we can go hunting together!
I’m stuck at that 5 kg mark; sometimes it creeps up to 6, but then it just slides right back... Honestly, I haven't had much of an appetite lately because I've been dealing with some heavy heartbreak 😢 and yeah...
