She’s 86—been dealing with this since she was 20. She keeps saying she has cancer and that she's going to die. It’s just a constant loop. 🤦
He’s making everyone around him miserable with that behavior.
I won't even get started on how much healthier she is than me—seriously, the woman is an absolute powerhouse. 🙄
My great-grandmother was exactly the same way. 😁
It’s the exact same age.
She just keeps insisting she’s having a heart attack every single week...
I’m with Carol Diaz31 on this one—living with hypochondria is no joke. It's exhausting.
I was at a gathering once where an old doctor made a point that stuck with me—hypochondriacs actually tend to live longer. It sounds backwards, sure, but her logic was simple: because they’re constantly obsessing over every tiny twitch or ache, they end up catching everything early. They’re basically hyper-vigilant about prevention and spotting issues at the very first sign. 😁
I’m definitely leaning toward hypochondria myself 🙈
Until about eighteen months ago, I was the type to brush everything off—just tell myself it’s nothing, it’ll pass, I’m young (only 20). The most serious thing I dealt with back then was just strep throat. But then, everything hit me at once. My symptoms didn't just linger; they escalated, and I kept ignoring them. Then—bam. Suddenly, I was stuck undergoing endless testing. Before those tests were even done, doctors were throwing every worst-case scenario at me—MS, potential tumors, you name it. That’s when the real anxiety kicked in. Now, I’m terrified of basically every single symptom I notice. I’ve been through the wringer with tests (full thyroid panel, full head scans including EEG, MRI, X-ray, Doppler, plus lung checks, EKG, endoscopy... most results came back fine, though my stomach and neck issues aren't great), but the fear just won't quit. Every single day, something hurts. Seriously, *something*. I’ve "had" everything from brain issues (thanks to constant, intense neuralgias) to heart problems, MS, lymphoma, leukemia, scleroderma, DVT, pulmonary embolisms, gallstones—the list goes on and on 🤦
I have a history of hypochondriacs in my family (two great-grandmothers and my grandma), so I know firsthand how brutal this is. Still, I try. I fight it. I don't let it completely take over. Sometimes I'll go a few months without thinking about illness at all, and then—out of nowhere—it hits me again and I spiral into a bad period.
Hey everyone 🙂
I'll drop this here instead of starting a whole new thread.
What could cause sudden weakness in both hands at once?
It’s hitting my forearms and hands the hardest.
I have lordosis—found out by accident—but I don't really feel any major neck pain. Just some minor stuff here and there, nothing crazy.
Thanks for any input!
I have a quick question.
Can you suspect lymphoma or leukemia based solely on CBC results? I mean—just from the basic CBC?
Can someone make sense of these results?

Reason for testing—suspected appendicitis; pain on the right side. Is this blood work extremely concerning? It’s obvious there’s inflammation—likely a urinary tract infection—but several parameters are quite high... I’m currently at the coast, so I can't get to my doctor immediately, and I’m not exactly an expert at reading blood panels, so if anyone could share their thoughts... thanks in advance 🙂 (and yes, I know corticosteroids can affect blood counts, which I'm taking for allergies)
Is difficulty breathing actually a defining characteristic of asthma?
Hey, I'll just drop this here instead of starting a whole new thread.
Don't be mad, 😁
I've been dealing with this chest pain for a while now—it’s never in the same spot, it kind of "wanders" around (reaching from under my armpit all the way to the middle of my sternum). It usually feels like a sharp sting or sometimes a burning sensation. The pain lasts about 10 seconds. I also get bouts of tachycardia. I had an IBM done when my heart rate hit around 150. The results didn't show any other abnormalities; there were no arrhythmias noted on the report, just a steady rhythm.
The pain doesn't happen during physical activity; it only hits when I'm resting—mostly when I'm sitting up or reclined. It isn't constant. Lately, though, I've been feeling my heart race quite often while resting, even though when I check it with a blood pressure monitor, it never goes above 90 bpm, which isn't too crazy...
My thyroid hormone levels came back normal, and my thyroid ultrasound was fine too.
So, what else could this be?
Thanks in advance 😁
Any updates on my sister?
Did you guys figure out what's going on with her yet?
Hope she's doing better 😉
