Today I noticed some small, but very clear, traces of blood in my discharge. 😕
The discharge itself is a sort of beige color—I’m not quite sure how else to describe it—but other than that, I haven't noticed anything else particularly unusual.
My period ended about 4 or 5 days ago, though it actually lasted a little longer than my usual cycle.
About a month ago, I dealt with a bacterial infection, which seems to be something I struggle with quite frequently.
I had my last pelvic exam three months ago and everything was fine, and my most recent Pap test was done about a year ago.
Do you think I have any reason to worry?
Thanks. 🙂
I’ve already gone through quite a few medical appointments and tests, but despite feeling absolutely terrible, the doctors haven't been able to pinpoint anything specific. I suppose I’m just worried that, eventually, my body might start calling me to account for all the strain I've put it through lately. 😢
I'm 30 years old, and for the last six or seven years, I've been living under constant, intense stress. Most of it stems from my job, though there’s plenty going on at home that makes me want to pull my hair out, too. Over time, this stress has just worn me down, both mentally and physically. I feel this sense of chronic fatigue all the time, and about three years ago, everything finally pushed me to the edge of a total mental and physical breakdown. Honestly, I don't even know how I made it through that period. For weeks at a time, I was just shaking from the sheer exhaustion, and for two years after that, I’ve been trying to pull myself back together—all while maintaining an equally grueling pace at work and at home.
In the meantime, I started psychotherapy. I haven't gone the medication route, and I actually feel much better today, even if my energy levels still aren't quite where they should be. While therapy has helped me organize my thoughts and get my life a bit more in order, it unfortunately hasn't been able to change the actual volume of my daily responsibilities or the level of stress I face, especially at the office.
So, mentally, I'm doing better, but physically, I still feel completely drained. It's frustrating because all my medical tests come back almost perfect. What really worries me, though, is the long-term damage I might have done to my body during these years. I find myself wondering if all these breakdowns and the prolonged stress could potentially lead to something serious, like cancer.
I don't smoke, I don't drink, I stay active, and I try to eat well—everything seems fine on paper—but I can't shake the feeling that this lifestyle and the constant rush are going to be the end of me.
I have excellent genetics from both sides of my family. My parents are both alive and honestly healthier than I am, even though they're well into their 70s. My grandparents lived into their 80s (all passing from natural causes), and my aunts and uncles on both sides seem to have enviable vitality and health. Still, I worry that my current way of living is essentially canceling out all those genetic advantages I was born with.
Is it possible to become physically ill from stress and develop a major disease? And if so, what should I even be doing right now?
