Blood vessel health in Health ·
I wanted to jump in here with a question regarding circulation—does anyone have any actual experience with this?
I’m 68 years old. I’ve already gone through angioplasty twice in both legs, but now I’ve hit a wall where I can barely walk because the pain in my calves and thighs is just too much. One hospital where I previously had the procedure refuses to perform another one on me. According to my latest scans, a major artery in my pelvic/abdominal area is completely blocked.
I’m honestly at a loss for what to do next. My vascular surgeon won't admit me, yet the radiologist sent me back to him, saying he needs to review the results and perform an angioplasty in the pelvic/abdominal region. Apparently, the circulation in my lower legs is fine, but there isn't enough blood flow coming from the pelvis to actually feed the muscles. It’s a catch-22: I can’t take even two steps without having to stop and rest.
The vascular surgeon sent me off for a CTA on my legs to "verify" things, meanwhile, I’m struggling just to move around.
Does anyone have any sensible advice on how to handle this or how to find some relief?
Aside from my legs, I’m otherwise healthy. No other issues so far. But because of this, I’m stuck in bed, which obviously just kills my circulation and mobility even more.

Bryan Taylor6 said:Another old-school move is using external hard drives—especially if you don't leave them plugged in all the time. They tend to fail much less frequently that way...

Honestly, that’s my exact headache. My drive is constantly connected because my setup is always changing—it's just how my work goes. Because of that constant activity, things die on me quite often. Is there any way to link two drives together so that when I update one, the other mirrors it automatically? I need that data redundancy for peace of mind. Or is there a risk that both could just give up the ghost at the exact same time?
On top of that, I have 1TB of free space on Microsoft OneDrive, plus a paid tier. If it isn't too much trouble, could someone weigh in on the reliability of cloud storage? What's the actual consensus on its quality and the risk of losing everything?
External storage options in Hardware ·
I could use some advice from the seasoned tech experts around here.
I’ve got a massive mountain of documents I need to archive. Up until now, I've been relying on 15GB and 30GB thumb drives, but I've run into a recurring nightmare: those drives fail, leaving me stranded without my most important files.
Can anyone suggest a reliable way to store everything that doesn't involve the constant risk of a flash drive dying on me?
Thanks for the help.

15GB flash drive not being recognized by PC in Computer Peripherals ·
Is there any actual way to recover data from a 15 GB flash drive if the computer won't even recognize it? It’s just... nothing. Not loading at all.
Does anyone have any leads? I'm talking about absolutely critical files here—stuff I can't afford to lose—and now they're just out of reach.
I'd be incredibly grateful to anyone who might have some advice.

The drive is a SanDisk, and it isn't even a month old. Honestly, it was working perfectly until this morning, and now it's acting like it doesn't even exist.
Non-profits & Community Orgs in Forum Help! ·
Casey Bennett said:What exactly do you mean by "a thread on non-profits"?
Are we talking about how to incorporate a 501(c)(3), reviewing their performance, or what? What’s the specific angle here?

I want to see deep dives into every legal facet of non-profit life—incorporation, managing business accounts, handling expenditures, the whole nine yards. Everything this forum can handle.
Right now, I’m focused on one specific scenario: if a non-profit takes out a commercial loan from a bank based on its transaction history, who actually carries the burden of repayment? If things go south and they can't pay, who is held liable? And more importantly, what kind of legal fallout or sanctions are we looking at?
Non-profits & Community Orgs in Forum Help! ·
First off, I’d appreciate it if the admin could point me in the right direction. Does anyone actually know where I can find threads regarding non-profits or community organizations? Are there even any on this forum? If someone could clarify that for me, I promise I won't keep pestering the staff; I'll just go ahead and start my own thread myself. Otherwise, I'll just keep digging.
I'm hoping for some guidance from the admin or perhaps another forum regular who actually knows their way around here.

so I ended up going through a broker instead
and honestly, everything went through without a hitch
they don't make things difficult like they do back home here in the States
though they are definitely more cautious about the details
if anyone actually cares to know how it works, just shoot me a DM

Would it be alright if I asked for your contact info regarding those overseas loans you mentioned?

Thanks

Richard Mendoza5 said:I spent way too much time haggling with these types offering loans from abroad at 2-5% interest. Eventually settled on one outfit out of the UK. After endless back-and-forth and arguing over terms, I'm just sitting here waiting for the funds. They claim it takes up to five days. We'll see how that goes.

Oh, please, tell me—did you actually end up getting that loan?

Jesse Alvarez3 said:Of course there was no upfront payment. I stood my ground and insisted they just deduct the amount from the loan itself. Then the guy sends me a photo of his and his wife's driver's licenses along with a picture of his family at a church ceremony, claiming he’s a man of God and asking why I don't trust him. That was it. Communication ended right there.

Oh, my dear friends,
This topic has been floating around this forum for ages, but I figured I’d revive it just in case anyone else has some fresh updates to share.
As for that whole "photo and man of God" routine? I’ve received that exact response at least fifty times now. But hey, I keep playing the game. You know, I have the time, and sending emails doesn't cost me anything but a few minutes of my life, so I keep the correspondence going.
They all promise these massive loans—personally, I’m looking for $500,000—yet they only ask for a measly hundred bucks or so in fees. Honestly, don't they realize how ridiculous they look?
In my experience, I ran into one or two who actually had the nerve to ask for ten thousand dollars. I almost fell for those, too, if I actually had that kind of cash lying around to send them. But not this time.
So far, I’ve sent out at least a hundred, maybe even a hundred and fifty inquiries to these email addresses, and the result is always the same.
Refund Request: How do I get my money back? in Forum Help! ·
I’m honestly not sure which sub this belongs in, so I’ll ask the admin to please just move the thread instead of deleting it.
My son is 37 now, and he moved overseas for work over a decade ago. Before he left, he worked here in the States for a few years and managed to tuck away about $7.25 in his BlackRock account.
It’s safe to say he isn't coming back to live here anytime soon. Now, he’s wondering if there’s any actual way to withdraw those funds from his retirement account early, since he won't be needing them for any local pension down the road.
I’m asking anyone who actually understands the nuances of our tax laws and financial regulations to weigh in. I want to give my kid some solid guidance. It’s a significant amount of money, and it would be a shame to let it just sit there if he could put it to better use elsewhere. I’d be incredibly grateful for any insight or direction you can provide.

Jonathan Ward59 said:So, I’ve actually dealt with JPMorgan Chase before, specifically their Austrian branch
I took out a $50,000 loan from them about a year back
Local banks here wouldn't touch me—too many excuses, things like not having enough reported income, being a single parent with two kids, or some nonsense about being near the social safety net threshold
Honestly, I don't even know half the hoops they try to make you jump through, so I just turned to Austria instead
It was easy; based on the house I put up as collateral, I could have easily pulled $75,000
Instead, I went with $50,000 over a 15-year term, and my monthly payment sits at around $658, which includes life insurance
I don't have the exact numbers for the appraisal costs, and legal fees were pretty standard—most people end up hiring their own lawyer anyway
The commission was 6%
They didn't make it a massive ordeal like the banks here do, and everything was finalized in about a month and a half
All in all, I'm satisfied
though if I had tried to do this locally, my monthly payment would probably have been closer to $667 over a 25-year stretch

Dear lady,
Is there any way I could get in touch with you? I am more than willing to pay whatever fee you deem appropriate for your assistance.
Thank you.

Robert Gomez2 said:I was wondering if anyone here might know who actually offers loans or lines of credit to people who are already drowning in debt and dealing with frozen accounts, because apparently, I can't get a single cent without putting up my house as collateral, and honestly, that just doesn't seem like a smart move to me
I mean, I suppose there might be some banks out there willing to cut a deal for someone in a tough spot, but I have no idea where to look, so thanks in advance

Excuse me, ma'am,
It’s been quite a while since you posted this, but could you tell me—did you ever actually pay that $50 fee, and did it actually work?
Feel free to send me a DM if you'd rather not discuss it publicly.
Thanks.
Admin, please forgive me if I’m barking up the wrong tree here. I couldn't find a specific thread dedicated to weight management, and honestly, why I ended up wandering into the women's health section is anyone's guess—I suppose it's just because this concerns my wife.
My wife (55) is struggling with her weight, and we just can't seem to get it under control.
We fell down a rabbit hole reading some alternative health blogs, where everyone insists that honey and cinnamon is the magic cure for shedding pounds. So, naturally, I've been playing barista for her, prepping two cups every single day—one in the morning and one at night. We've been at this for over twenty days now, yet there isn't a hint of progress.
If anything, the scale is actually going up instead of down. It's maddening.
Does anyone here have any actual, sensible advice on where we're going wrong? Is there any point to all this, or are we just wasting our time?

Thanks

I was actually looking into getting an international loan just like this one.
I ended up finding some company online based in the USA.
I reached out to them, and they were insisting that I pay for the credit insurance upfront. Just to be safe—you know, being cautious—I asked them to send over their official business details.
And what does the guy do? He sends me an address, a phone number, and a tax ID... but he leaves out the actual name of the company. No name at all.
So, I went ahead and searched a US business registry to see if I could verify them using that tax ID.
After that, I asked him to please, just send me the registered name of the firm.
He finally sent a name, but it had absolutely nothing to do with the company registered under the tax ID he gave me earlier. It was a total mismatch.
As soon as I called him out on it, he just ghosted me. Completely disappeared.
That's why I'm saying, please be SO CAUTIOUS about who you send "insurance" money to. There are way too many people out there losing thousands of dollars to scams like this.
NEVER, ever send money for stuff like this through Western Union....
I'm still out here searching for a legitimate loan—but so far, no luck!!!!

Good luck, everyone

Dear lady,
May I ask for your personal email via PM?
I would gladly post mine here publicly so you could reach out, but I am not sure if that is allowed. Actually, I've decided to take the risk.
If you don't mind, please contact me at kbszeljko@gmail.com, and hopefully, the mods won't ban me from the forum.

anitapor said:I have a patient here who wants to share some praise for the pharmacology department at Holy Spirit. Honestly, there is an angel working there named Dr. Jasna Čerkez Habek. She is a doctor completely dedicated to her craft, and on top of that, a wonderful woman who actually makes time for her patients.

This isn't some scripted thank-you note. These are genuine feelings I have for this doctor after months of being shuffled between different departments. I feel incredibly lucky to have ended up under her care. This is just a regular patient trying to express her respect and admiration for Dr. Habek since I have no other way to say it.

Thank you!

Patient Anita Porzižek

P.S. My thanks also go out to the surgeons who operated alongside Dr. Marton and Dr. Habek!

Honestly, I’d be happy if someone could just point me in the right direction to get in touch with Dr. Jasna Čerkez Habek. I’ve heard nothing but incredible things about her—both as a top-tier internist and as a truly wonderful person. I’ve tried everything to reach her, but even endless searching and phone calls via Google haven't yielded anything.
If anyone knows how to schedule an appointment with her, please let me know. It’s for my closest family member. Just shoot me an email at kbszeljko@gmail.com and I will be eternally grateful.
Voice changer recommendations? in Software ·
Hey everyone,
Does anyone here know how to actually change my voice on a phone? I’m trying to call into a local radio station without them immediately recognizing who's on the line.
I'm looking for options that work for both my smartphone and my landline. Any ideas?

Best,

Does anyone actually know a top-tier internist who also handles cardiology? An all-in-one specialist—if such a thing even exists? I'm looking at either a private clinic or a major hospital setting.
Price isn't the issue here. What I want is a thorough, legitimate examination and actual expert advice.

Getting a loan through an Austrian bank in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Jack Wood4 said:Look, I get where you're coming from. I used to moonlight for these types of people—first working with our local banks, then moving up to some big outfit out of the USA. Here’s how the racket actually works: the middlemen have to bring their own appraisers to the table. Since you need collateral to secure a mortgage, they use these guys to artificially inflate what your property is worth. Then comes the "goodwill" part. You essentially grease the appraiser's palm, usually around 5% of whatever loan amount you're angling for. Once you've gathered all the paperwork—including your pay stubs, which, if you have any garnishments or bad credit history, obviously need to be "adjusted" illegally—you thank them for their "flexibility." After that, everything gets shipped off to the USA. A few days later, you grab your passport and head over there to collect the cash. They’ll try to convince you to just wire the money directly to your American bank account, but that’s a sucker's move because the transaction fees eat your profit alive. Honestly, once I saw the sheer scale of the deception involved, I walked away. It just wasn't right.

Come on, be a pal. Just give me a cell number for at least one legitimate broker handling those foreign loans. I don't care about the commission; I just want a contact.
If it's not too much trouble, shoot me a text at 555-019-8724, and I'll call you.
I'd be eternally grateful.
