I caught a screening at the local AMC yesterday, and honestly, it’s exactly what you’d expect from a holiday action blockbuster—it hits all the right beats. There are some seriously intense visual sequences that pop, and the humor actually lands for once. I have to say, Paula Patton really carries her weight in this one, mostly because she looks absolutely massive and ripped; her arms look like literal shovels on that big screen 😁

Personally, though, I still maintain that the original is the gold standard. It remains my absolute favorite because it felt like a much more substantial piece of filmmaking, built on a far more serious and gripping narrative

Out of order, if you must:

The Wedding Singer

Terminator 2: Judgment Day

The Warrior and the Empress

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge 😍😍😍

Beverly Hills Cop (largely thanks to that soundtrack 😁)

Jerry Maguire—honestly, both actors were quite repulsive in real life, but let’s be fair, they were absolutely legendary on screen.
