😂
we're all just cut from the same cloth, really.

just kidding. but honestly, that’s pretty much how things stand with people—and men, specifically—these days....

I was debating whether or not to bring him up, but since we’re already talking about Jesus, I might as well take a breath and join in. 😁

The reasons themselves are almost redundant to state, but I was one of Marshall's pioneers, and those were my very first spiritual vows 😍
that I still honor to this day.

here is a woman 🙂 The woman
an inexhaustible wellspring of spiritual and artistic inspiration for me is Frida Kahlo 🙏
a figure who spent her entire life and career living in the shadow of her famous husband, the political painter Diego Rivera, whose works were observed with interest but rarely with genuine respect, only to be later reclaimed by art history as one of the most distinctive and powerful visual voices of all time.
I find it particularly charming when Frida heads to Paris to meet the surrealists, Breton & Co., and finds them huddled in some café, intoxicated by tobacco, booze, and drugs, endlessly theorizing all day long instead of actually engaging in revolution 🙂
she leaves them feeling utterly disgusted. The only one she could tolerate was Duchamp.

“You have no idea the kind of bitches these people are. They make me vomit. They are so damn ‘intellectual’ and rotten that I can’t stand them any more. It is really too much for my character. I rather SIT on the floor in the market of Toluca and sell tortillas, than to have any thing to do with those ‘artistic’ bitches of Paris...they don’t have any thing to eat in their houses because none of them work and they live as parasites of the bunch of rich bitches who admire their ‘genius’ of ‘artists.’ shit and only shit is what they are. I never seen Diego or you [ Muray, wasting their time on stupid gossip and ‘intellectual’ discussions. That is why you are real men and not lousy ‘artists.’

Exactly, and she’s a Latin music star and a model at that, so what’s the big deal 😁 👍
Am I actually allowed to post comments here, Florin?

Well...
I’d really prefer if men didn't judge me solely based on my physical appearance. Of course, it’s human nature—both men and women are naturally drawn to beauty—but aesthetics shouldn't be the yardstick we use to measure someone's actual worth as a human being.
It’s actually quite surprising coming from him, considering he stood firmly against the likes of Adolf Hitler and that kind of systemic terror, even enduring significant hardship himself because of those convictions.

Look, if we take a specific example from philosophy wine, the author basically argues that women are absolutely wonderful and sublime—blah, blah, blah—but strictly on the condition that they remain beautiful (he draws this whole comparison to fine wine). According to him, an unattractive woman is just a miserable existence, and he can't even fathom what her purpose would be 🤣 😲
To him, an unattractive woman is essentially a glitch in the system, like some kind of biological error or a fundamental disability

Bela Hamvas 🙏 was actually translated by one of my professors back in college, and when I sat for the final exam, they handed me an A and a copy of 😍 philosophy wine as a little bonus—easily the best exam experience I've ever had!
He’s a brilliant philosopher, even if I find some of his takes on women a bit hard to swallow, but I suppose we can live with that. 🤷

Oh, this is such a beautiful topic, and I really love the way you’ve framed the concept of inspiration. 😍

For me, a constant wellspring of inspiration has always been Aleister Crowley. Of course, he isn't the only one, but he was certainly one of the first, and his influence is truly inexhaustible.
It is actually quite difficult to pin down exactly what it is about his prose that strikes such a chord; it's just that whenever I dive into his writing, there is this profound engagement—intellectually, emotionally, and aesthetically—that serves as a powerful catalyst for my own creativity.
It is nothing short of fascinating how much of an erudite he was, possessing a perspective on spirituality that was remarkably broad and liberal for the era in which he lived, a relevance that hasn't diminished in the slightest to this day.
What I value most, however, is his poetic sensibility, which feels deeply rooted in the arts; when I am reading him, I never feel as though I am merely consuming "spiritual literature" (or magical texts, for that matter), but rather engaging with genuine literature, philosophy, and poetry.

My name is Aleister Crowley
I'm a master of Magick unholy
Of philtres and pentacles
Covens, conventicles,
Of basil, nepenthe, and moly.

I have nothing but respect for Smart_bitch in her role as moderator, but this PDF remains an utterly pointless exercise. 🤷

And nobody is actually innocent... 😉
I don't know why people get so worked up about these things on Reddit, but here we are again. It feels like every time someone brings up a serious topic, the comments devolve into pure chaos within minutes. You can’t even have a civil conversation without someone jumping in to derail the whole thread... It’s honestly exhausting. You try to make a point, stay measured, and actually look at the facts, and then you get hit with a wave of nonsense from people who clearly haven't thought twice about what they're typing. It’s just noise at this point. There's no logic left in most of these discussions, just people shouting into the void for attention... Anyway, I'm going to step back from this one before it gets any more ridiculous. Some arguments just aren't worth the energy.

I don't tolerate any personal attacks. Period. I've even gone after my own real-life friends when they deserved it, so don't think you're special...

Back when those topics were actually blowing up, I wasn't even a moderator yet. So, for the record, I didn't shut them down...

I said "some" idiots—not all, per se. I certainly didn't say everyone is an idiot, for heaven's sake. 😲
(honestly, this is starting to feel like light brainwashing)

You might not have closed the threads, but you stayed silent, too. You were right there witnessing my specific situation; you saw how I communicated in that thread and you saw exactly what morbid wrote to me.
I truly hope you won't continue to tolerate that behavior, though your silence doesn't necessarily reveal your intentions. You chose not to speak up about the issue, whereas you could have shown some solidarity—much like how morbid's little group showed him solidarity by jumping on me in the Complaints section.
As a regular user, I react when I see injustice, which clearly gets under certain people's skin. They love to label it as "whining," "lobbying," or having a "conflict-prone personality," but I am certainly no coward.🙂

redmarlin3 said:How can you claim this is inaccurate when I literally provided the link to the article where ALF takes full responsibility for torching the van?
I’m saying the exact same thing here as I did back on that thread. Here is the proof.

Go ahead, point out any double standards in the World regarding us since I started making an impact.

"Just because someone insulted carnivores doesn't mean it justifies insulting the honest, ethical members of PETA, and there are plenty of them."

Read my post about insults again... and this time, try actually understanding it.

Look, I find it pathetic whenever anyone calls carnivores names or insults any group of people. That is just moronic behavior.
And frankly, I feel slighted by moderators who fail to warn users about such language, and instead choose to justify or even encourage it.
Furthermore, ALF and PETA are two entirely separate organizations. You noted that distinction over there, but you haven't repeated it here.

I have no idea how your moderation style works, mostly because I tend to avoid Reddit; I’m always half-afraid I'll get a strike just because someone else decided to insult me.

Anyway, we are drifting off-topic now, whereas we could have settled this in the threads specifically designated for it.
I didn't notice you complaining about those threads being closed.
I'd much rather hear your thoughts on that.

boldhound8, I never said you were doing a good job; I simply meant it would be a nice gesture if you warned users before jumping straight to a strike. If that isn't your policy, then 🤷

Here is something fresh:
Sting moved my favorite chat topic from the Car section over to Off-Topic. We were pretty annoyed because he left the other chat topic alone while trying to bar us from participating in it. (Of course, all the mods from the Car section were involved, but since Sting is my favorite, I'll just mention him.)
I viewed that as blatant discrimination and segregation, so they eventually moved the other topic to Off-Topic too, which was perfectly fine. 😛
I just wanted to make the point.

Look, that quote is inaccurate, insulting, and frankly condescending, but I won't go on a rant because you clearly have a double standard in this document—one that's even more obvious in much worse examples elsewhere—so 👋
since you didn't bother to write anything when you actually had the chance, I don't see why you're suddenly being so stingy now.
Just because someone insulted meat-eaters doesn't give anyone a free pass to insult the honest, ethical members of PETA, who make up a significant portion of the group.

As for your tendency to hold prejudices against people, that's your own issue to deal with, provided you don't let it bleed into your moderation duties.

Thanks

boldhound8, it’s actually quite refreshing to see someone with such a strong sense of conscience, taking the time to warn everyone before you start handing out bans.
If only everyone else behaved with even half your integrity—or perhaps a third, or even just a quarter of it...🥳

It’s becoming increasingly obvious from one post to the next that this entire PDF is nothing more than a calculated piece of manipulation.

Four separate threads regarding the Son situation were shut down without any explanation whatsoever, leaving all our arguments and counterarguments completely ignored.
So, I’m currently lurking through Reddit, and I noticed people are calling PETA members idiots quite freely. To make matters worse, the moderator seems perfectly fine with it, apparently deciding that such remarks don't count as "insulting the community." When I decided to step in and point out the obvious—that several of our own members almost certainly belong to PETA—she simply brushed me off by complaining about my attitude toward her authority.

And here we find ourselves trapped in a vicious cycle, caught in a loop of pure, unadulterated donkey logic.

It appears that even Baron Samedi is having a bit of a struggle with that PDF file. 🥳
Moderator bans in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I’m in agreement 👍 (with Maria Thompson2)
It honestly escapes me why there's this assumption that warnings are reserved strictly for moderators, as if the rest of us aren't equally expected to maintain some level of decorum.
Furthermore, we shouldn't overlook the fact that strikes aren't merely polite suggestions; they carry weight through a points system that can ultimately culminate in a permanent ban—making them, by definition, a penalty.
Personally, I have never once ignored a moderator's warning, whether it was posted publicly or sent via PM, even in instances where I found myself fundamentally disagreeing with their perspective. I believe most reasonable users operate with that same mindset, and it stands to reason that a formal warning should be a mandatory prerequisite before anyone is handed a strike.

I think your initiative is solid, but here is my take on how this should actually work:
We need to establish some crystal-clear guidelines for when someone opens a thread in the Complaints section. Those rules ought to be:
First, there must be proof that you actually tried to settle things with the moderators first, that the complaint itself is objective, that you have evidence ready to back it up, and that you aren't just looking for trouble.
The second rule is that a moderator is required to clearly respond to the inquiry (unlike my own three experiences:
1. where it’s impossible to tell which moderator is even handling it,
2. where the moderator simply never shows up,
3. where an administrator steps in to fix the issue but fails to notify me whether anything was actually done or not,
4. or where a moderator pops in, replies to the thread three different times, yet still manages to ignore my specific question entirely🙄).
Providing a clear response means they should justify their decision based on the forum's official rulebook.
Essentially, "I gave you a strike for this, but I didn't give him one because... blah, blah, blah."

If we had those standards, we could actually call this PDF process serious; right now, it feels like a chaotic joke where only the most obvious, mindless issues ever get handled.

P.S.
One more thing—I really believe that before anyone gets handed a strike, we should implement a mandatory warning system (either public or via private message). We shouldn't just go straight for the sledgehammer. For instance, it’s ridiculous when trolling and off-topic chatter are tolerated in a thread for months, only for a moderator to suddenly swoop in one day and start handing out five strikes to every single participant at once.
