I was talking to my neighbor the other day about that old industrial site down the street that had that massive blaze last summer. Even months later, it feels like the whole block is just stuck in limbo.

It’s honestly infuriating how the process seems to work. Usually, the people or companies involved are already jumping the gun to get back to business as usual, while the actual people living next door are still dealing with the literal fallout. Whether it's the smell, the debris, or just the general sense of unease, the community gets left holding the bag while the paperwork for "restoration" hits the city desk before the cleanup is even finished.

It feels like a complete lack of empathy for the people who actually have to breathe the air in those neighborhoods. How can you even talk about reconstruction when the site is still a disaster zone?

Does anyone else feel like local government needs to mandate a "cleanup certification" before any new permits can even be filed?

I happened upon this film after quite some time. It is truly phenomenal; Meryl Streep is spectacular.😍

A phenomenal film. It belongs in the same league as "Prophecy."

I watched that film on DVD the other night, and I must say, it was impressive. A historical epic on par with Brave Heart, perhaps even superior...

redowl90 said:Is this forum really starting separate threads just to debate whether bands like Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, or U2 are overrated? Unbelievable.

The film is garbage, and honestly, so is the band. I've been successfully avoiding that U2 3D thing so far.

Blasphemy.🙂

One does not debate matters of taste; that would be as absurd as claiming Mahatma Gandhi was a drug dealer or that the earth is flat. However, I respect your perspective.😁
I respect the film *The Wall*, but I do not enjoy it. It feels less like cinema and more like a bad trip or a clinical study of schizophrenia. It serves as an allegory for the life of Syd Barrett—a brilliant artist and dreamer who was ultimately imprisoned by his own mind within a wall of internal fear and suffering. Or something to that effect.😁

Phenomenal. I wasn't even fully awake, yet I still managed that. I certainly won't be making that mistake again tomorrow.😍

Does anyone recall that campy rock-horror flick about teenage vampires? I caught a broadcast on satellite the other night after ages, and it holds up quite well. What are your thoughts?

Have you seen this film?
It covers the life of the famous socialite and artist Edie Sedgwick, the muse of Andy Warhol, who ultimately died from a drug overdose.
It’s an interesting piece, particularly regarding that specific era in the late sixties in the USA, when the youth were attempting to grasp at the divine while the majority remained trapped by their own fears and delusions.
..Sienna Miller looks stunning, though based on what I have seen, she bears little resemblance to the actual Edie Sedgwick.

I recommend the movie, but stay far away from hard drugs, my friend.😁🙂
