2009 Grand Prix of China - April 19th in Formula 1 ·
ironfalcon43 said:you might want to get used to this😛

things are changing around here🍿

You don't honestly think I only root for them when they're winning, do you?

I've been pulling for them since long before these recent championships started rolling in.

Besides, the season has barely even kicked off.
We've got a long way to go. 😉

I guess Kimi hasn't found that button yet.
Even if he does, I guess he still hasn't quite grasped what the whole thing is actually for. 😬
Morgan Murphy7 said:To be honest, I’ve never really been a fan of Kimi Räikkönen 🙏

I've loved him ever since he crashed his Sauber at Imola back in 2001, right in front of my seat. 😍
I honestly can't stop laughing at this article today, especially this part:

- Going off track was my mistake, which is such a shame because, given how things were unfolding, I could have even made it onto the podium – said Kimi Räikkönen.

😲

🙄

😂

🤣

🙏

👍

You just have to love the guy. 😍
Gary Palmer8 said:You call it luck, but I'd call it a lack of skill—basically, Sebastian Vettel and Jarno Trulli just couldn't figure out how to handle the situation...

Jarno Trulli has always lacked that certain edge.
As for Vettel, I guess he just didn't have much luck.
Gary Palmer8 said:I'm just putting all those people—you know, the ones who call every single one of Lewis Hamilton's wins "just luck"—exactly where they belong. 😉

I don't really get why you're picking on me then. 😛

Yesterday was honestly nothing more than pure luck and a lucky break. I guess I'm not disputing Hamilton's driving skill or his overall value.
Gary Palmer8 Asks:
Haha... Lewis really is an eyesore. Let's see if there are any other defenders of this nonsense here who actually believe Glock let Lewis off the hook in Brazil last year?

What are you even talking about? 🙄
ironfalcon43 said:The weekend is over, and honestly, most people probably won't even remember it (aside from the winner, of course). It doesn't really matter how things unfolded while the race was happening; what matters is how you cross the finish line at the end... that's the only metric that counts.😉

True enough. At the end of the day, it's the points that count. 😉
ironfalcon43 said:From what I can gather regarding the standings:

McLaren 6
Ferrari 0

So, there really is no point in comparing the Silver Arrows to a team like that.🤷

It's true, the points situation favors McLaren.
Unfortunately (or fortunately, if you're a McLaren driver), those points don't really reflect how unconvincing and struggling McLaren looked over this past weekend.
ironfalcon43 said:I don't intend to comment on the race until the dust settles and the official RESULTS are confirmed... However, I was quite taken aback by this sudden onslaught against the current champion... It’s truly unfortunate to see people projecting their frustrations over their own teams' poor finishes by insulting Lewis😕. There is honestly no point in wasting words on such individuals...

It sounds incredibly pathetic to hear all this jealousy directed at Lewis... but if that's how you choose to feel, carry on... For McLaren fans, this was an absolutely stellar race, and we have plenty of reasons to celebrate👍

Did they perform as brilliantly as Ferrari?
Even with that gap, I guess Lewis managed to scrape together a podium finish... though it was really thanks to Trulli's mistake. 😬
Morgan Murphy7 said:I really don't see why you felt the need to say that to him 😁

Because. 😍
Morgan Murphy7 said:If you're looking for some kind of sign, just know I spent years pulling for Williams Racing, but clearly, my loyalty didn't change the outcome. 🤷

That's exactly why they ended up where they did... 😬
Frank Collins85 said:In my view, Kimi made a brilliant tactical move by pitting just three laps before the finish... I mean, what kind of driver would even bother spinning their wheels in last place behind an SC until the very end?

The guy is an absolute legend. You won't find anyone better. 🤣
Morgan Murphy7 said:ever since "naive" became just another polite way of saying "clueless." 😁

It’s not that he's stupid. I guess he was just being a bit unrealistic at the time. 😉
Besides, I don't really get why he kept calling himself an idiot. It wasn't all his fault.
stormybadger8 said:🤣 Look, objectively speaking, that was pure insanity. But then again, the FIA has tolerated this kind of nonsense throughout history. I guess nobody’s allowed to pass him under the SC, right? 😕

Besides, I don't really see why this is being singled out as "dangerous." This kind of driving behind the SC—or even Kimi flying down the track with an Exhaust bouncing around at full speed—doesn't get penalized. So, please, explain to me objectively why *this* deserves a penalty when those didn't.

And hey, he's not the first German to try racing on three wheels. 😬

Come on, be serious. 😛
That wheel was wobbling like it was barely hanging on by a thread. And I think Vettel was being a bit naive if he actually believed he could make it onto the podium like that.😬
stormybadger8 said:He got an order from the pit wall for that, and that's not why he was penalized—just read the link above. 😉Otherwise, why would he get flagged? Rubens drove half a race with a broken wing, and last year Kimi dealt with a loose exhaust flapping in the wind. Same goes for when Kimi had those totally shredded tires and a car bouncing off the track because of them. Even Vettel spent time behind the SC and realistically could have finished P2, no matter how stupid it looked.

It seems objectivity just goes out the window the moment your favorite driver takes a podium😉. 😁
And what on earth happened to Kimi? 😬
It seems to me like Kubica hit a bit of a snag. 🙄
