"– I don't believe anyone else in the Second Division spent more this season than we did, exceeding six hundred thousand dollars, which was our total budget. And in our specific case, that figure doesn't even account for stadium maintenance or utility overheads."
"Given the club's financial standing, the facility, the organization, the tradition, and the loyal fanbase... do you feel there is a lack of ambition within the club? No one is claiming Orient must aggressively hunt for first place at all costs, but why shouldn't we set our sights a little higher and act with more courage?"

It doesn’t even matter; that isn’t even the deciding factor here. The real prerequisite is the existence of a specific group of people who simply cannot stand to see their city's rival succeed. And let me tell you, such a group exists. You also need a certain—how should I put this?—historical, geographical, or even identity-based component that allows you to differentiate one side from the other and break away from imposed behavioral patterns. And all of that, heavens, it all exists, if we don't even get into the messy business of history, drawn lines, and borders. There is nothing wrong with one side constantly feeling neglected in favor of the other, or with there being past grievances or old mistakes that can serve as the foundation for a compelling narrative.
It is obvious that the Orient is merely a backdrop here, a necessary element to complete the equation, and its aura is so symbolic that one might occasionally wonder if it even truly exists. But it does. Yet, in terms of sheer scale, St. Pauli is just as small and essentially insignificant compared to HSV, much like Rayo Vallecano against Real Madrid, or Rad against the "Eternal" clubs, or perhaps Cracovia compared to Wisla—to use similar examples from closer to home or further afield.
Perhaps. It isn't out of the question that we might see this same dynamic play out in a city like San Diego in the near or distant future. Based on my own experiences climbing the stands at a game back in '96, soaking up the raw energy of the crowd and the entire atmosphere of that single match... honestly, words can't quite capture it. You simply have to experience it firsthand to truly convey the magic.

Honestly, everyone, if I may speak for the group, you all have truly let us down. I suspect many of you are supporters of Cibalia—likely a club that attracts very few haters, or at least people who find reason to complain about every little thing. In my own life, I’ve encountered countless fans from various teams, and quite often, they place Cibalia on the same high pedestal as their own beloved clubs. That kind of respect is a rare luxury in an era where everything feels tainted, where standards have slipped, and where integrity is frequently traded away until it reaches a point of sheer discomfort.
Just try it. Please, try everything within your power to get Cibalia back on its feet and firmly planted in the top flight. It is certainly much easier for me to say these things here than it is for you to actually execute them on the ground. But whatever you do, do not give up. Perhaps in the near future, better days will come for both the club and the city of Vinkovci; perhaps conditions will finally align so that Cibalia can occupy the place it absolutely deserves to be.

Between Dinamo playing today and Rijeka’s matchup in three weeks, we are officially looking at the final curtain call for the City Stadium. It feels surreal to imagine Osijek playing their home games at some other venue. They don't carry that same heavy sense of sentimentality or that deep-rooted connection to a specific patch of dirt that we feel for Kantridu, or what the older Hajduk fans felt for the Old Stadium. But even then, I suspect there will be a profound sense of heartache for many of them when they finally pack up and head home after leaving Rijeka for the last time. After all, an entire era is coming to a close. You are permanently walking away from a place that every true supporter had every right to consider their second home—their sanctuary.
